Neighborhood: Östermalm
With its high-end shopping facilities and Michelin-starred restaurants, Östermalm is definitely the poshest part of central Stockholm. Here you will find Stockholm’s most majestic residential buildings, a beautiful market hall from 1888 displaying gourmet foods from around the world and the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre with its awe-inspiring architecture. At night, legendary nightclubs make the perfect location to observe the natives (and those aspiring to become natives of this exclusive neighborhood) in their natural habitat and to enjoy the latest produce of the Swedish house music scene.

The display full of goodies is not to be played with. Puff pastry is also of a superb standard. Occasional and friendly welcome. If then the cafe part were as appealing it would have been one, must visit.Today you have got used to exciting porsing, but not yet here. Also like the very generous opening hours

Wow - perfect buns ;-) ! I guess the only reason why this place is so low in the TripAdvisor ranking is that it's not known to tourists and is a place for locals. I am not a fan of cardamom buns - I have tried them at various places in Stockholm (including top-ranked bakeries) and they were "meh"... But here I bought one and came back for two more for take out immediately. Amazing! Soft, sweet, cardamom-my. One of the best pastries I have ever had!

Having read such great things about this bakery, we took the metro out to Karlaplan and walked a bit further, just to experience it. It's located in a non-touristy, residential part of Stockholm - all the better!

WOW. Locals constantly lining up out the door to get their fix? That says it all, really. A local in the line behind us told us that the cardamom buns are "the" item to get here, so we took his advice. Yum! We also tried some excellent savoury items, such as an olive and cheese bread.

They need to set up shop near my house in Australia, just saying!! I am in Stockholm once in a while, and from now on I will definitely be coming back to Valhallabageriet every time I'm in town.

Expect a line and don’t forget to get a number! No matter the bakery you must try a kanelbullar, Sweden’s cinnamon roll. This bakery makes amazing ones with cinnamon or cardamom. If you don’t like cardamom a lot, you probably won’t like it. It’s a lot of cardamom and I loved how soft it was too. I should have bought more than one.

Been there before, but this time I got really disappointed.
Rich in quality of their bakery products, but poor in service.
Pure mess behind the “bar” where the staff didn’t realize well their competences of service.
Also being a bakery shop, where there is contact with food you don’t expect that one of the sellers went out from the bar to pet a dog. “Lovely but inappropriate”.
Coffee was poor of taste.
Hope next time I can write positive things instead

This tiny bakery is located in a non-touristy, residential part of Stockholm (closest tube station would be Karlaplan). This is a bakery, not a cafe (although they have a a few tables outside), thus suitable for take-away. It's where the locals go to get their bread/buns/cookies/brownies. We went there with high expectations and it didn't disappoint. Everything we bought was wonderful both the sweet and the savoury. We go to Stockholm regularly and never miss a visit to this bakery - the cardamon buns are addictive.

My family and I went out of our way to stop at this bakery because we heard it had some of the best kanebullar - cinnamon buns - in town. We were starving and exhausted after a long flight, so a pastry and a Kaffe sounded like the best pick-me-ups.

The staff were pretty friendly and offered us some recommendations of what to try, and the coffee was pretty good too. Of course, the kanebullar was delicious. However, coming in at around $20 CAD for two coffees and two pastries, it’s rather pricey.

The store itself is quite small and has limited seating, and the beverage options are limited, so if you were hoping it would double as a cafe, I’d say there are better options out there. However, if you’re like us, in desperate need of a mid-morning spirit boost and the best pastries in town, Valhallabageriet is a great option.

They have a wide variety of pastries and all of them look delicious! We had a fantastic experience eating the typical kannel-bulle, it was just DELICIOUS.
