As there weren't any other reviews on this attraction, we had to take a chance when booking, but were more than pleasantly surprised at the service we got from Choco Chocolate.
I emailed to find out about classes in English and got a quick response from Alma to say she would sign my husband and I up for a class on our preferred day and time. We paid for the class via the website without any hassles and on the day of the class, Alma was waiting out the front of the building to greet us. As it turned out, we were the only students so we had the full attention of Alma, the instructor.
The class begin with a bit of history and education about chocolate and then we got straight into making truffles and pralines. We got to perform all the steps in the chocolate making process and were given the recipes to take home with us. Alma was great at helping and assisting where necessary. At the end, we got to take home all the chocolate we'd made and it was absolutely delicious - just as good as any truffles or pralines you'd buy in one of those expensive chocolate stores. We're looking forward to trying out the chocolate making at home as it definitely isn't as hard as it looks - you just need to know the tips and tricks to it.
We also got a small break during the class where we had some chocolate mousse that Alma had made earlier - delicious!
Thanks Alma for a wonderful class. We're looking forward to making chocolate at home!

We spent an amazing 3 hours (time flew by) with appropriately-named Alma--a sweet soul who is an award-winning genius with chocolate. After a chocolate tasting and fascinating background information about the history and processing of cocoa beans into chocolate, we learned an incredibly simple but precise method to make the most divine and beautiful chocolates that we have ever tasted! At every step along the way Alma offers hands-on experience & opportunities to customize the chocolates. We made "pralines"(cream-filled chocolates), truffles, and chocolate bark, and took home lots of beautifully-boxed treasures. She offers classes from beginner to advanced, and in English, Swedish, and Norwegian. (She is a native of Singapore, descended from Malaysian royalty, but grew up in Norway & educated in Sweden.) The class is held in a space near City Hall that is convenient to central Stockholm (we walked from the ferry) but is up 1 flight of stairs (not handicap-accessible). Alma offers classes daily (ours was 4-7 on a Sunday!) & will be a sweet memory for life (plus a valuable investment for chocolate gifting or even a chocolatier career.)

Alma is a superb trainer, gives very clear guidance, and is highly personable. The lesson was great fun and the chocolates we were able to produce were of a very high standard. In fact I'm not sure I could go back to eat shop purchased chocolate now I know how to make my own chocolates and bars. Would definitely return for further lessons and can highly recommend this course. I attended with my 13 year old daughter who had equal enjoyment and success.

Hi Aaron K,
thank you for taking the time to share your chocolate experience. Yes, you are right, our concept is to teach how to make as lovely chocolate pralines as the ones you can find in the chocolate shops but by using simple equipments.
I am happy to know that you had alot of fun and enjoyed the tasty and lovely pralines you made.
Thank you and hope to see you again!

We had an amazing afternoon learning about chocolate and actually making chocolate. Our instructor, Alma was very patient and very knowledgeable. We made pralines and even got to choose the fillings. One of our favourites was making the chilli chocolate filling which added a soft kick to our chocolates. We asked so many questions and Alma knew so much about types of chocolate, best chocolate locations in the world and so much more. This was a great experience as we LOVE chocolate and never knew it was this easy to make fine chocolates. We started off with the basic class and will be back to take the advanced class to learn how to make truffles. Can't wait...

Alma with Choco Chocolate is absolutley wonderful. I took a one on one class with her in June and it was the highlight of my visit to Stockholm. It was like visiting a friend at her house. Alma explained the process, gave excellent tips, answered questions, and really made it a fantastic afternoon. I enjoyed it so much that I bought a kit to make chocolate at home. I would highly recommend that you consider a class with her- you won't regret it.

My boyfriend and I took a beginners class with Alma and had a great time. She took us through the basics and let us try it on our own. She would jump in when needed, but you were able to do the steps on your own, feeling proud :). She had a variety of options for us to choose, such as shape trays and different liqueurs to add into our fillings. She also provides you with the recipe to try out on your own.

This is a cozy little chocolate factory own by a chocolatier who has come to Stockholm all the way from Singapore. We had a lovely chocolate tasting session and learnt quite a few facts about everyone's favorite guilty pleasure. Our host took us through the journey that a cacao bean goes through on its way to become a bar of chocolate, decsribing the composition of various types of chocolate & explaining how the taste differs between beans grown in different regions of the world. We were served delicious desert wine to go with it.

Alma is a great teacher and we made 3 different types of chocolate. The session is excellent value as we were only two people and got the opportunity to ask lots of questions and take lots of chocolate home. You have the opportunity to experiment with flavors and at the end Alma provides you with very nice packaging so that you can take all your chocolate home. I would highly recommend the chocolate making class.
