I visited this area at dusk and the view if Stockholm was breathtaking. Even though it was cold the area was not to windy so I was able to hang out a bit. Day or night the view of the habour and the building in Stockholm is rest from here.

Lovely small path in Södermalm, close the Hilton hotel. Wonderful views over the water to the City Hall and Old Town. You can have a short walk and have a nice little picking in the green area at the beginning of the path. Highly recommended!

This spot was recommended by my walking tour guide. I took the metro to Mariatorget and walked to Monteliusvagen. This is short shady path with great views of Stockholm from up the hill. It takes no more than one hour. So, it worth combining this walk with Mariatorget, St. Mary Magdalene Church and Sodermalm. Google Maps will work perfectly to get around.

Monteliusvägen is not a "väg" (street) in The usual meaning of the word, but a boardwalk clinging to a cliff! Situated on the south Island of Stockholm (close to Mariatorget) it offers a tranquil and spectacular wiew of Stockholm waters, the Old Town and Kungsholmen. IT is a promenade of about half an hour which you won't regret or forget.

Take the metro to Mariatorget station (on the red line); from there it's a short walk, downhill. Otherwise, from metro Slussen you'll have to climb up. On the way down, you'll pass by the house featured in the "Girl with the dragon tattoo". There's no sign, it;s a red brick house with a passarelle in front of it.

Its an easy walk up the hill and a few steps to get to this small trail with an excellent view of the city. Have a coffee or brunch at one of the cafes in the area before taking a short walk up here.

Great wooden boardwalk along the cliff overlooking most of Stockholm, from the Stadshus to Gamla Stan. The nearest metro station is Mariatorget then head toward the water. Follow the boardwalk toward Gamla Stan to the very end, where it drops you in an interesting neighborhood with iron catwalks connecting buildings on the cliff side to street level by Mariahissen. It was so surprising!

Don't forget your camera, and possibly a windshield.
The view is great at any time of the day, but it's probably the best in the evening.

Lovely place to have your pictures of Stockholm. This hill is so picturesque and unique. The cobbled streets around the pathway are a bonus and the area of art galleries and handcrafts below is also beautiful. My only warning is: Be careful if you go in winter, since the pathway is frozen and you can easily fall.
