What a great place! Not only beautiful but full of action with bars and areas that offer a great view of the city. Very lively place. If you have a chance to take a tour, do it! Worthwhile if you are not actually going for a performance. Great food too!

It's a gorgeous building situated on a grand square in which complementary architecture is present. The facade is delightful, classically inspired reflecting the timeline of its establishment. A great equestrian sculpture is the middle of the square, in front of the opera. It is a panoramic scene with them both in sight.

If you like to visit the Opera, you should absolutely plan to visit this beautiful opera-building in Stockholm. I try to go at least every third month and still am breath taken when I enter the building. You want to treat yourselves? Pre-book a glass of champagne or cava in the golden Salong for the break. I promise you, you... More

When you look at it from the outside is tarnished and it doesn't give any idea of what you can see inside. Stepping in... that is another story, is glamorous and beautiful. And worth a visit.

We had a private tour of the opera house and it is lovely. Very unique house as the stage is a slanted stage making it difficult for ballerinas. The outer rooms are lovely and historic to look at. It would be good to have seen a concert or opera there but the season was over. We also ate at their... More

It's not as fancy as the Sydney Opera House, but the Stockholm Opera House is also very nice in design and architecture being over a 100 year old building. The style is simple but stylish like Ikea or Volvo, also modest. It looks some what like the Vatican, but also like a palace as well. Hard to say exactly, but... More

The Opera House was near the bus stop where we were picking up our coach back to the cruise ship. We had an hour to spare so popped in (no charge) - it was well worth a look and also had a bar/restaurant on the first floor where you could sit outside on the veranda with good views over the... The Opera house itself is a beautiful step back in time. It would be interesting just to walk around both outside and in as I'm sure there is loads of history here. What is great is the wide range of tickets - we had tickets (with a partially obstructed view) for $27 which was certainly more about the experience than... More

This opera house is gorgeous and apart from its grandeur it hosts some great food options with really beautiful views of some of the landmarks of Stockholm! The outdoor seating outside the gold foaje is lovely for lunch. Love this place

Verdi fans will know that it is this very theatre where the events that gave us "Un Ballo in Maschera" unfolded. If it's new to you, go to this wonderful building and get the scoop. This is a big and old theatre, still hosting wonderful performances after 125 years. The audience spaces are old-school in that romantic sort of way.... More
