Kulturhuset houses a theatre, art exhibition space, a library, a children's library and several cafés. This is an easy place to go to when you're with young children who are fed up with the city, the children's library on the 4:th floor has a great space to play around, read books (in other languages than swedish too), play boardgames etc. there are sofas for the grownups to sit in, there are restrooms and even an ateljé where children can paint for a small cost.
If you're not with children, you can also visit an art or photo exhibition, often free of charge, read a newspaper in your own language or have some lunch with a great view. In the summer the roof-top terrace is open, and there are arrangements such as open-air cinemas, concerts and more in evenings.

Kulturhuset is quite in the center of Stockholm and a very nice place to hang out and relax from all those lang walks in gamla stan (the old town) and shopping at dröttningsgatan.
this is a place for all kind of different people living in stockholm - the atmosphere is just very welcoming. definetely check out the "theatre-bar" in the second floor. they also hava a café where you can enjoy great swedish fika. also you can have free refill on tea (costs like 250 SEK) , which i really loved.
try to sit near the window - it offers you a great view over one of stockholms busiest plazas.

Decent food and prices, good views over the centre. There is also a buffet salad and pasta bar, as well as free coffee.

Good place to go on a rainy day, kulturhuset is filled with things to do for the whole family. Also has places to eat. In the summer the rooftop restaurant is to be recommended as it has a good view out over central Stockholm.

Unfortunately the attraction is completely underwhelming. The general area is a bit of a bathos. If you've seen the picture on here, you may gain little more from visiting.

This was recommended by Rick Steves as a fun place to ride the escalators. But I didn't really understand what there was to do here. All signage was in Swedish only.

The library for children at the 4th floor of Kulturhuset in Stockholm is a little paradise for both grown ups and children. Full of the classical children's literature exposed on a lot of shelves at various heights, but not only books, lots of fun spaces for climbing and going into small nooks and tunnels, arts and craft activity for a small fee. Place for pick nick and spaces for reading and telling stories and every now and then sing a long with guitar, and you don't have to be quiet as is usual in libraries

This is an archive of modern Swedish culture. In this one building there are theaters, a film, sound and book library, two art exhibition halls, a model of Stockholm, a children's play room, and several cafes.
The rooftop cafe is one of my favorite places to people watch in Stockholm. The cafe has well priced lunches and a good assortment of baked goods. It overlooks Sergels torg, the main shopping area in Stockholm.
The art exhibitions are free entry, and even without a library card one can listen to music or read the magazines. If one is looking a way to stop the hemorrhaging from one's wallet, this is a place to visit
