The island of Djurgården and its northern mainland extension, Djurgårdsbrunn, impress with a mix of nature and an abundance of museums, while being located in walking distance to Stockholm’s city center. Djurgården not only invites visitors to take endless walks through a beautiful park landscape without having to leave the city, but also offers an incredible range of entertainment facilities, such as an open air museum which specializes in the Swedish way of life pre-industrialization, the renowned Vasa Museum with its legendary sailing ship, and Sweden’s most famous amusement park Gröna Lund, which is more than a 100 years old.

We visited in order to go to the concert that was happening! Super fun. Some dated rides but good fun! Nice bar area on the water at the back, you can’t take alcohol out of the bar area though. We struggled to find info about the concert entry so heres some!
We bought a ticket to ride online (you have to order online then pick up in person) that includes access to the concert as the stage is just in the theme park itself. Concert was happening in the evening, so we bought an evening (16:30) entry ticket (they have two entry times, if you go in the morning they empty the park between sessions, so you can’t stay all day.
If its a major artist you might want to queue early, they had set up areas for this outside, some keen beans were there already at 9am! But we went to see Zara Larsson, bought tickets at 4pm and it was fine, however a ticket doesn’t guarantee you a seat or anything, it’s a first come first served deal for your spot. I assume when they have reached capacity they would stop selling tickets, although thats not totally clear.
The disabled access platform was quite small and got filled up, and i think one wheelchair user that i saw couldn’t fit and was just stuck in the crowd which was a shame, although you might be able to pre-book a spot for wheelchair users, not sure!
All the staff we asked for help spoke excellent English so just ask if you get confused!

One of if not the smallest amusement parks I’ve visited but it’s so well put together & features a massive amount of attractions packed into the space.

The park is right in the heart of the city & visible across the water from Gamla Stan & Slussen. You can reach it easily by tram or bus or by walking, but the most fun way was to use the commuter ferry to get the views as you approach.

As stated the ride lineup is incredible considering the tiny footprint, there’s a great mix of thrilling rides as well as family ones. Our favourites were the new inverted rollercoaster Monster, Jetline (much, much more intense than it looks) & a brilliant Ghost Train. Theres also a great classic funhouse, 3 different drop towers (including an extreme one that tilts you face down so you face the floor as you drop) & an awesome star flyer.
The views over Stockholm from the taller rides are as good as any you’ll find, particularly from the Star Flyer.

Worth pointing out that the main square in the park also doubles up a concert venue that hosts some huge names. Because the stage is in the park itself any shows are included in the price of your ticket, which is amazing value for money so it’s well worth looking at the concert schedule before booking! They do close a couple of attractions such as the Star Flyer early on these days so get them in early if you’re just there for the rides.

Overall it’s a really great, unique park & I’ll definitely be returning some day!

This is a nice theme park. For such a small place, the number of large rides is very impressive.it was very clean and the staff was very attentive to things like sweeping and keeping the trash cans empty. That always reminds me of Disneyland. A half day is more than enough to hit all the big rides, and that's the only kind of ticket you can buy. It's good to remember too that like most places in Stockholm, it is credit only so don't being any cash with you. We did get a "play pass" for our youngest daughter. We thought that meant she could play the games until she won a prize and for $20, it seems like she should have gotten something. However, it would have been nice to know ahead of time that many of the games were not part of the program. The ones that were, had goals that were so hard, our 12 year old couldn't meet any of them. I doubt we'd go again, but if we did, I wouldn't bother with any of the games and stick to the rides only.

First off, but your tickets online ahead of time. Most things we did in Stockholm didn’t require this, but Grona Lund was sold out for 2 days before we could buy tickets. We tried to buy onsite, and that’s not even an option.

But good luck buying online if you’re an English speaker. Most of the site doesn’t work when you select the English language option.

But once you do figure out buying online, you’ll be directed to put your tickets in the app. And that doesn’t even have an English option! We asked a couple of employees and they didn’t know how to change it either.

And know that each day has two sessions. We bought the morning session and it ends at 3:30pm. At 3:15, all of the rides start shutting down and they start herding people out of the park. Once the park is empty, they let in the afternoon session.

My 7 year old wasn’t tall enough to ride about 1/2 the rides. And he’s pretty tall for his age.

A fabulous the park with something for everyone. It is small but they pack a lot into the cleverly designed space. Situated on Djurgarten, the views and the position on the waterfront are amazing. It is easy to get to by boat or tram. The queues were not long and you get 2 free Jetpasses which enable you to jump the queue for selected rides. Some of the riides we took included the Monster (our favourite rollercoaster) the Flying Carpet (which flipped our insides!) & the Fall (which does exactly as you'd imagine). It is also a venue for gigs, which you get to see as part of your entrance fee.

We had a really nice time on the rides at this park! however... We only had time for 6 rides as the park was absolutley crammed with people! Cueues were between 40min-1.5hrs (incl. cueues for food) which wouldn't have mattered if we got to spend the whole day there, BUT bc of covid we had to book a timeslot and actually only had about 5hrs to spend in the park. So even if it is a good theme park, it did not feel safe due to the amount of people that were let in, and wasn't really worth the money to only go on 6 rides. We were let in at 9.50 and everything shut down at 14.40, I'm guessing to prepare for the evening slot groups.
Overall it was a good day but it did not feel Covid19 sage, massive crowds and way too short of a time slot.

Even if it's big - it's not that great. In fact, we had a better day in Gothenburg and Liseberg. But was beacuase we had children among us.
Gröna Lund is mor for couples and teenagers. They have a lot of restaurants that sells wine and beer and that tells it all.
A concert nearly every night with big artist from around the world, but the concert stops a lot of attractions and it's very very crowdy so a big advice is the skip those days.

A lot of queuing to the attractions and they don't have express passes (like Universal, Disney and even Liseberg) so come very early and leave early. Or go to Gothenburg if you have children under 13

We went there on a sunny day. It was a bit discomfort and very hot during the waiting in the tunnels in line for the rides. We try to book our tickets online we took our money and we did not receive the tickets. So we had to wait at the cashier line for too long and even if we payed the same amount of money we could not have the 2 times skip the line because our ticket was printed! Nevertheless the rides were really fun and it is a worth visiting amusement park!

Each ride has approximately 0-10 mins waiting time.
Food and drinks are everywhere, any type from Tacos till Pad Thai. Order by App, cashless pay.
Seatings are enough for everyone.
Toilets are available at every corner.
This is non smoking park, but somehow they offer a smoking spot by the water.
Shows and entertainers did their jobs pretty good.
Parking lot cost 300Kr for 6 hours.
It’s small and old, but for me, this place is cozy and classic.
I love it.

Gröna Lund is a great, compact amusement park that should satisfy any child (or adult). Locals told me it was very busy when we visited, but it is a matter of perspective. Our longest wait for a ride was 15 minutes, whereas most waits were under 10 minutes. It is also a concert venue.
