Neighborhood: Djurgården & Djurgårdsbrunn
The island of Djurgården and its northern mainland extension, Djurgårdsbrunn, impress with a mix of nature and an abundance of museums, while being located in walking distance to Stockholm’s city center. Djurgården not only invites visitors to take endless walks through a beautiful park landscape without having to leave the city, but also offers an incredible range of entertainment facilities, such as an open air museum which specializes in the Swedish way of life pre-industrialization, the renowned Vasa Museum with its legendary sailing ship, and Sweden’s most famous amusement park Gröna Lund, which is more than a 100 years old.

Kids park, good music events, bizarre drinking rules
Went here to see Alice Cooper. Had no intention of going on rides which was good really because this is mainly for kids, no white knuckles here. Spent a couple of hours in there before the gig. Limited food options, very very expensive. Probably £10 for a tray of nachos. The most bizarre thing here is the bars and beer. This venue is putting live music events on however you are only allowed to drink beer in designated bar areas that are nowhere near the stage. Can't drink a beer while watching the gig - have you ever heard something so ridiculous?

    Excellent evening visit
We purchased evening tickets which allowed access from 7pm until close (10pm). This allowed us plenty of time to enjoy the atmosphere and ride several rides. We didn’t queue for more than 10 mins on any ride, with most queues less than 5 mins. The best surprise was the fun house, which is definitely built for adults unlike most fun houses at parks, and is a piece of history being an original from the 20s. We also bought tickets for the haunted house (House of Nightmares) it was worth the few pounds extra. Actors were inside, but it wasn’t too cringey! It was pretty creepy. There are vegan options for food, but the food stands closed quite early, and we’re on the pricey side, although not outrageous. I had read you might not be able to take a bag, but this wasn’t a problem as we visited on a night without a concert. There were cubbies to leave your bags in when on rides which felt very safe. When arriving before going into the park visit the ticket booth across the road from the main gates and show them your online booking - they will give you a paper wristband which you use to show to get on the rides. We spent the first twenty minutes quite confused without our wristbands before a member of staff explained to us what to do. They did let us out of the park to go and pick up our bands, they just added our names to a guest list for re-admission - but would have been much easier just to have had the bands from the start. It cost us £48 for two evening tickets and the haunted house. Not cheap, but a very fun few hours, allowing you to ride any rides as frequently as you’d like and worth it for the experience. The park is a nice walk from the city centre. Easy to walk there in about 15 mins.

A good ride but tickets are confusing
Kids 16 and 13 enjoyed the 3 hours at Gröna Lund, which is conveniently located next to the Wasahamnen guest harbour. They rated the experience with 4 stars, but I am subtracting one as the one day "Ticket to Ride" does not allow re-entrance without contacting personnel BEFORE exiting. And especially because there is no mention about the need to contact the personnel in the FAQ or anywhere else.

This is a nice theme park. For such a small place, the number of large rides is very impressive.it was very clean and the staff was very attentive to things like sweeping and keeping the trash cans empty. That always reminds me of Disneyland. A half day is more than enough to hit all the big rides, and that's the only kind of ticket you can buy. It's good to remember too that like most places in Stockholm, it is credit only so don't being any cash with you. We did get a "play pass" for our youngest daughter. We thought that meant she could play the games until she won a prize and for $20, it seems like she should have gotten something. However, it would have been nice to know ahead of time that many of the games were not part of the program. The ones that were, had goals that were so hard, our 12 year old couldn't meet any of them. I doubt we'd go again, but if we did, I wouldn't bother with any of the games and stick to the rides only.

First off, but your tickets online ahead of time. Most things we did in Stockholm didn’t require this, but Grona Lund was sold out for 2 days before we could buy tickets. We tried to buy onsite, and that’s not even an option.

But good luck buying online if you’re an English speaker. Most of the site doesn’t work when you select the English language option.

But once you do figure out buying online, you’ll be directed to put your tickets in the app. And that doesn’t even have an English option! We asked a couple of employees and they didn’t know how to change it either.

And know that each day has two sessions. We bought the morning session and it ends at 3:30pm. At 3:15, all of the rides start shutting down and they start herding people out of the park. Once the park is empty, they let in the afternoon session.

My 7 year old wasn’t tall enough to ride about 1/2 the rides. And he’s pretty tall for his age.

We had a really nice time on the rides at this park! however... We only had time for 6 rides as the park was absolutley crammed with people! Cueues were between 40min-1.5hrs (incl. cueues for food) which wouldn't have mattered if we got to spend the whole day there, BUT bc of covid we had to book a timeslot and actually only had about 5hrs to spend in the park. So even if it is a good theme park, it did not feel safe due to the amount of people that were let in, and wasn't really worth the money to only go on 6 rides. We were let in at 9.50 and everything shut down at 14.40, I'm guessing to prepare for the evening slot groups.
Overall it was a good day but it did not feel Covid19 sage, massive crowds and way too short of a time slot.

A fabulous the park with something for everyone. It is small but they pack a lot into the cleverly designed space. Situated on Djurgarten, the views and the position on the waterfront are amazing. It is easy to get to by boat or tram. The queues were not long and you get 2 free Jetpasses which enable you to jump the queue for selected rides. Some of the riides we took included the Monster (our favourite rollercoaster) the Flying Carpet (which flipped our insides!) & the Fall (which does exactly as you'd imagine). It is also a venue for gigs, which you get to see as part of your entrance fee.

Amazing pocket size amusement park. Only need half a day (which is cheaper). Need to buy tickets online, then scan QR code at booth for wristband and then scan QR code again to get into park. Can bring small bags or backpacks (will be checked) but on many rides need to check into a cubby or leave on platform while riding. Only went for the rides - so no food or game package. Did the 4pm ticket start. Had a blast. Be aware that later in day is a ton of teenagers, not so much families with younger children. Felt safe the entire time. Just a bunch of young kids from all over Stockholm/Sweden having fun.

A small and action packed amusement park catering for the thrill seekers with 3/4 really good rides and a variety of calmer rides for the little ones

Not too busy for the rides

Getting access requires a super shleppy procedure where you HAVE to go through an online portal in Swedish- absolutely not customer / foreign tourists friendly.

The stench of fried food inside was a untenable.

Quiet steep (50 eur/ head) since you don’t want to spend more than a couple of hours

winter wonderland booked as a family of 3 in Dec 22. Over priced and the major rides were not operating so felt it wasn't worth the money. The staff are all excellent and very helpful. The experience is good but everything extra money so came away feeling poor. For the money of the entrance fee we expected a lot more. Every stall wanted more money. We've been to other places like it where you pay a small amount (or free) to get in and then pay. Here you over pay to get in and then pay more, and more and more.

Nothing was good. One of our tickets was not scanned at the entry, we were not told we would need wristbands and that QR codes cannot be scanned at rides from the mobile phone, a member of staff did not know where in the park we can get wristbands in addition to the entrance, where we were not informed we would have to go to a specific place for wristbands. In the end, we had to leave without being able to take a single ride since our time allocated for the park was over. The worst experience of my life and certainly my children's life.

They should really improve their site in English. It's quite incredible that in a large international city like Stockholm, there is so little information on the park in English. The need for wristbands is not mentioned anywhere on the site. I couldn't possibly have known they were needed, and the staff never mentioned it though they had plenty of opportunities at the entrance.

I originally posted a review with one "star". The second one has been added because after a week of complaining to the company and pointing out all the problems, they finally issued a partial refund because they did realise they made serious mistakes.

I’d recommend coming here in the summer, as the majority of the rides were closed this winter. Think they should lower ticket prices for winter if nothing is going to be open.
The winter wonderland was quite nice, but definitely directed for children only. Just felt a bit weird me and my partner going and nothing was directed for adults.
Can’t fault the staff they were nice and friendly.
