Absolutely brilliant! Amazing theme, beds comfortable, reasonably priced, great breakfast and within a 10 minute walk of metro. We have done numerous city breaks with budget rooms and this was the stand out accomodation. Genuinely can't fault it so why try?! 5 stars!!

After seeing some of the "top" attractions in the city, I had to get the hell away from everyone. This was a great place to do so. Nice views of the city when you get up on the rocks. Good spot to dip away if you're in the area.

A lot to be missed gem! This is a small island, that used to have a prison. Now the prison is a hotel and hostel and you can actually sleep in the cells. There is a cafe and a nice restaurant, a small beautiful beach and lots of small paths to walk - around the island or across in many ways. A wonderful haven when you are tired of the city and a not so known alternative to the more famous Djurgården. Don't miss the lovely Lilla Henriksvik cafe, with it's 18th century garden overlooking the water. Lovely!

.....there are few better spots in the busy city of Stockholm which are more tranquil and pleasing to the senses than the Long Island!

This is one of the central islands of Stockholm. The name implies that it's long. It's a good place for strolling, bathing (yes you can bathe in the city), maybe a picnic and for checking out the old Central Prison of Sweden. The name of the island was very much associated with this. It was closed down maybe 30 years ago and today has a restaurant and a kind of hotel where you can stay in the cells.

We walked across the bridge from the main island to get here. There are some lovely parks and places to walk. We came across many bike tours. Loads of great views.

Langholmen is a piece of natural landscape in the large city of Stockholm. A bridge leads to this gem where once the Stockholm prison was situated that today is a hotel. There are beaches with clean water for swimming in the Malaren and cafes. In the Western part of the island you will find well tended colony lots for growth of veggies and fruits tended to the Stockholm citizen who maybe does not have a summer house (that many Swedes have).

Långholmen is definitely one of my favourite islands in Stockholm. The youth hostel / Hotel that was an old prison is perfect if you are looking for an original and quiet place to stay during your visit to Stockholm. The island has its own, very popular sand beach which is usually crowded with local hipsters and their families with small kids. The island also offers great tracks for walks and wonderful charming cafes. A must-see during your stay in this beautiful town!
