Stayed here during my 3 day trip and very glad I did. Old cobbled streets seemlessly blend into more modern shopping districts and walking streets. Huge array of eating and drinking options. Would absolutely stay here again.

A part of Stockholm that contains many surprises especially during the summertime. Visit the square Nytorget with all its restaurants, take a walk in Vita Bergsparken , perhaps there is a free concert going on, stroll along the waterfront Södermälarstrand where you find various cafees and can go for a swim if the weather is nice. Join the nightlife at... More

Hop off the beaten path to enjoy this more residential and young side of Stockholm, filled with great places to eat/drink/be merry and feel a few degrees more hipster - ha!

We stayed in this neighbourhood during our stay. It is not very far from the historical centre and has many restaurants and bars.

Södermalm is primarily a neighborhood with residential areas, but there are also some areas with a high concentration of restaurants and bars. The view from Södermalm over the rest of the city is very beautiful because it is a height difference. Otherwise, this may not be the most beautiful part of Stockholm. The buildings here are generally much younger than... More

What a beautiful and serene yet busy area. We just could not get enough of the old houses, the stunning and charming shops and restaurants and the beautiful parks. Our short time here was not enough to experience all of Sodermalm and I suggest you would need to spend a few days here and then you would still miss out.

This island was in the old days a place for dumping unwished people - today it is one of the most attractive parts of Stockholm ! Loved by locals as well as visitors as it offers everything from small design shops to good pubs and restaurants !

We did a great Air BNB in Sodermalm, not having been to Stockholm before, and really lucked out. You can walk anywhere, get anywhere by Metro, and even pick up the cheesy hop-on-hop-off bus in the area (which we did to get an overview of the city). If you are a Stieg Larsson fan, all the better because this is... More

This is a great area. Old houses, parks and lots of charming shops and restaurants. If you want to experience all Södermalm you will have to spend a few days here. One day is not enough.

Staying in Slussen

Neighborhood Profile
Slussen
A unique mix of grotesque 1960s concrete urban vision and cosy historical Swedish brick houses, Slussen has become one of Stockholm’s most architecturally edgy and controversial neighborhoods. Plans to rebuild the area have been on the agenda for decades, however, so far no agreement could be reached, which is the reason for the continuing decay of its brutalist substance. Nevertheless, the museums and the main shopping street, Götgatan, attract both locals and tourists with Sweden’s most fashion-forward clothing retailers, hipster coffee shops and restaurants. Once the lights are out, the area turns into a bustling nightlife haven, catering to all preferences, from posh hotel bars to sweaty underground nightclubs. There is no better place to experience the clash between old and new Sweden.
