We took the ferry from Gamla Stan for a day. It lets you off at the amusement park and it's a nice walk down the main street either way to museums. The island is park-like. If you like art, don't miss the Prinz Eugens Waldemarrsud-- it is chock-full of impressionist and post-impressionist works by some very talented artists that you... More

Djurgarden is a beautiful island, with easy access by tram or ferry. It has a lot of history, and it has a upbeat vibe! Spent half a day here walking around visiting the museums and would definitely go back! Beautiful park!

Delightful for strolling around on a fine day. Watch the boats, watch people walk, cycle, exercise, relax. Pleasant places to stop for refreshments or food. If royal 'palaces' are your thing there is a small one to visit, or you could head on to one of the nearby museums and attractions.

Fantastic big city park surrounded by the sea and canals! Enjoy the wonderful nature and animal life... great for a stroll, jogging, tour on a Segway, bicycle or horse back riding. There are some cafés scattered around the park, some with sea view and others with lush gardens. Some museums and a zoo (Skansen) and amusement park (Gröna Lund) is... More

This was a nice place. It wasn't as great as Skansen, but as we were in small kids plan, was very good.

You have to be brave if you plan to see it all, especially if in town for couple of days. It is huge with lots of things to do for every taste or budget. We have chosen to stroll along the shore and admire the stunning views towards the city or residental places within the forest. We even saw couple... More

Djurgården is a very nice park island to take long walks away from the city sound, still very close to the city. My son found a lot of rare pokemons he had not discovered before😊👍🏻

Staying in Djurgarden & Djurgardsbrunn

Neighborhood Profile
Djurgarden & Djurgardsbrunn
The island of Djurgården and its northern mainland extension, Djurgårdsbrunn, impress with a mix of nature and an abundance of museums, while being located in walking distance to Stockholm’s city center. Djurgården not only invites visitors to take endless walks through a beautiful park landscape without having to leave the city, but also offers an incredible range of entertainment facilities, such as an open air museum which specializes in the Swedish way of life pre-industrialization, the renowned Vasa Museum with its legendary sailing ship, and Sweden’s most famous amusement park Gröna Lund, which is more than a 100 years old.
