I was in the hall for a Christening and Birthday party and was delighted that not only were we allowed to set up some appropriate banners and lay out food for the party. The hall was spotless and the bar staff were very attentive and did a fantastic job. The room was large enough to cater for several guests with plenty of tables and chairs to cater for all. The hall was used by several adults and children and the washroom facilities were spotless. A cafe operates in the centre as well and it is certainly a proper community hub.

We used this facility to hold the wake after attending a family funeral. The area we were in was also open to the public but did not distract. A buffet lunch was provided and had a very good selection of food to choose from. Plenty of tea and coffee was also provide. Bar prices were very reasonable.

Called in here for New Years ....brilliant atmosphere very friendly people will certainly be calling in again ...was made to feel very welcome Prices were extremely good and the bar snacks on offer from the kitchen were tremendous value ......thank you

Lunch with Granddaughter

Good food, lovely staff very keyed up for young toddlers, our granddaughter loved it and didn't want to leave also weather permitted got lovely garden. Well enjoyed lunch treat in the sun

Hullbridge Community centre, Hullbridge, Essex.
Great social events. Well-run and very reasonably priced bar. Clean and modern furnishings. Extra bonus of a lovely patio with large grassed area suitable for young families with added attraction of playthings for younger children. Attractive garden area, with Petanque Court (to be booked in advance, as very popular)
Added convenience of large free car park and also on a bus route literally across car park

40th birthday party

Went to a friends 40th party in the back room bar in the community centre!
I have lived in hullbridge for 16 years now, but have been to bar at the back only once!
So Was pleasantly surprised at the decor!!
Toilets had also had a make over!!
But at 8.15pm was told they had run out of ice!! Now this 40th had been booked well in advance! I also noticed there was a wedding reception at the front hall! So knowing they were going to be busy, you would have thought they would been more prepared!! When I asked an hour later, if there was any more ice yet? I was told in a very aggressive manner by the Bar man No there is not!! (I do know his name but won't embarrass him by naming and shaming him!)
Also at approx 8.45pm, I was told they had run out of a certain cider that I was drinking! Only having 4 bottles in stock to start with! A friend was also drinking this so we had 2 each!!
Considering this community centre has been open for many years, you would have thought they may have got the knack of getting things organised by now!
Obviously not!!

Positioned close to river Crouch with plenty of free parking. Good size hall for functions plus they hold their own functions that are well attended.
