For me, this is one of the most interesting places to visit in Malmo. This square houses a market, where you can buy everything!
This square is located in a multicultural suburb, where you can find a huge diversity of shops (Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Thailand...). Best place to eat exotic food, and to buy Oriental stuff (spices, cookies, etc). It's a gem :) Price is lower than in any other place in Sweden, and people are friendly!

Möllevångstorget is the center of the part of town called Möllevången or as it is called by locals "Möllan". Here you find the mix of people Malmö is most famous for: people from all over the world, bohemians, hipsters etc.

The square is surrounded by restaurants and shops selling food from all over the world. Day time you'll find a big market we're you can buy fruits, vegetables and flowers.

The big statue is a well-known metting place. Sit down and look at the couple meeting for their first date or the old lady waiting for the bus.

Late at night (when all the restaurants have closed) I find the square not a very safe place to be and some alleys I would't enter alone.

I visit Möllevångstorget regularly, around once in two weeks. It's an awesome outdoor market that sells fruits, vegetables, and flowers! Very cheap, and you can even try to bargain a bit.

It you think Swedes and Sweden is neatly organized but a bit stiff, go to Möllevången for a reality chack. Here people talk to strangers spontaneously, the vegetables are marvellously cheap, the mood is friendly and generous, even if those who don a kippa are rather likely to recieve an antisemitic slur. Yes its the heart of the multicultural Malmö, where they all mix, young indies, people from rural parts of Småland recently transformed into hipsters, arabs, asians and a small portion of the old Swedish working class that used to inhabit these blocks. How the orthodox feminists and intersectionalists manage to blend with the conservative moslems is a bit of a puzzle, but they actually do (even if they mostly interact over the desks ordering falafel, cheap and tasty in most places around here, 25 SEK) and the blocks of Möllevången certainly show the charm of the new Malmö and its cheeky jack-the-lad-attitude.

This is the very best of Malmö, thanks to the milling crowds from all over the World, Selling their delicious goods. Want a fine piece of lamb, expertly halal-butchered by a surly Iraqi? Want exclusive Chinese, Thai, Lebanese, Indian, Yugoslavi, Russian ingredients to make that special exotic dish? Look no further. Want the finest cheeses that money can buy? Right here! Last but not least, want the freshest produce from the vegetable kingdom? come here on a weekday or Saturday around lunchtime and go crazy! Fresh fruit, veggies and flowers, most of them locally grown, at extremely good prices. This is like Chinatown, Little Bagdad and Little Italy all wrapped into one, right here in Malmö! and it is NOT a Tourist trap, it's for real.

If you want to experience multicultural Malmö at its best this is the place to be! During the day you will find lots interesting food stores selling food from all 4 corners of the world, as well as a cheap and vibrant food market.

During the evening the square becomes the default hang out for Malmö's hipsters, lefties, punks, artists and students. Various types of bars and restaurants surround the square and are always busy any night of the week! Including Sunday :)

Tip: Order a falafel rulle! 15 to 20 kr! and perfect fast food, what Malmö has become famous for!

This place has a lot of restaurants to choose from. You can get a great chickenkebab from Orient grill or a nice thaimeal. There are restaurants with food from all over the world there. There is also a nice bakery that sells lebanese bread and during the day you can buy all kinds of fruit and veg. Around the corner there is also a shop that sells excellent fetachese. A lot of different things to choose from here. This is my favourite place in Malmo!

Möllevångstorget is a lovely excotic place to visit at day time. The fruit and vegetable market is energetic with people from many different countries. Around the plaza you will also find a lot of interesting food stores. Close to Malmö City if you prefer walking or reached by bus route 1,2,7 and 8.

We wanted to have dinner but didn't feel safe at all here. A lot of drug dealing and sales of stolen goods going on.

Go before 3pm to catch the fruit and veg market, and at night time this area lights up with students and locals.
