This is a fascinating small art museum in the centre of Lund focussing on preliminary sketches of art works. Some of the completed works are in the museum but the bulk are elsewhere, such as works by Christo and Henry Moore. They give some insight into the process of creating a work of art, hence the name of the museum. There is a Swedish gallery, an international gallery, the highlight of which is three large paintings by Sonia Delaunay and a Mexican gallery containing works by Diego Riviera, as well as preliminary studies for large murals at Mexican Universities. Well worth visiting.

A very nice experience - first time I visited this kind of museum and it is a must see in LUND. The restaurant is also excellent and has good lokal food with good and luxurious dining at an afordable price.

The unique aspect of this museum is that it is composed of the artwork before the 'real' artwork. It is a collection of sketches (hence the name in Swedish) and models of various sizes from the artists on their way to the actual artwork (most of which are in Sweden).

I experienced this via a guided tour which provided a good overview of the museum and some of its holdings. I loved the room that was floor to ceiling with a selection of various pieces. A do not miss piece: the Swoon piece. Stunning!

such an immersive amazing space, best art museum I've been to simply because it offers a unique look into some of the greatest artists work. to say the work is 'unfinished' or 'practice' is not to do it justice, all the work is fascinating and beautiful in its own right. I particularly enjoy the way the art is displayed, the gallery serves as a space for art, the art is given the space it needs regardless of potential prestige or fame.

Delicsious food, professionalism not expected at a museum restaurant. Highly recommended even if the museum wouldn't interest you.
However, the museum is quite interesting!! The building itself is quite intriguing, the sketches are far mor than you would expect. Enjoy!

The museum tells the story before the actual work of art is finished. It shows prototypes and sketches from many artists within a various span of tecniques.
I would recommend to attend a guided tour to get the most out of the visit.
We brought our 10 year old, she wasn´t that amused even though she loves both museums in general and art.
DO eat at the restuarant!
The shop was a bit disapointing since it was very small.

This is a must if you go to Lund. The building was expanded in 2016 and it is better than ever. Mostly sketches but many are close to final products. Also nice cafe.
