About
Welcome to Fredriksdal museums and gardens Nowhere in Europe will you find an equivalent to Fredriksdal. This is Skåne in miniature, with 360,000 square metres of unique settings, buildings and gardens. Here, the history and diversity of the countryside are caringly kept alive. With its museums and gardens, Fredriksdal offers interesting activities for all ages, all year round. Take an explanatory walk, watch the animals grazing or join the manor maids for an interesting tour. Buy a bag of old fashioned sweets in the old town quarter, or your favourite rose in the flower shop. Find answers to your questions on nature or folklore, or just lie back and relax in a hammock. With its historical parks and gardens, houses and farms, animals, meadows, woods and pastures, all situated around an eighteenth century manor house, a visit to Fredriksdal is like making a journey back into the past.

A gem in Helsingborg. The history of Skåne in a beautiful country estate, complete with manor house, botantical and kitchen garden, examples of historic farms, animals (including an adorable cat!) and houses relocated from old Helsingborg amongst many other things. The cafe is well worth a visit too - delicious home made food!

We visited Fredriksdal Open-Air Museum and Botanical Garden, a few kilometers to the north of Helsingborg, on a 2 days ticket combining different sites in Helsingborg: Solfiero castle and gardens, the medieval tower Kärnan and a number of very interesting temporary exhibitions in the amazing Dunkerts Kulturhus in town (Kungsgatan, 11). Fredriksdal can easily be reached on foot but it is also possible to take busses 1, 7 or 22 from the station (Knutpunkten) to the stop Juelsgatan. From there walk towards Hävertgatan en Gisela Trapps gata (Route description from town under http://www.fredriksdal.se/kontaktflikar/hitta-hit/).
Frederiksdal is many things at a time: a wonderful park, a botanical garden, an open air museum about life in the south of Sweden with temporary exhibitions ... Old buildings, both from the countryside and from town have been transferred here and can be visited. We particularly liked the old pharmacy and dentistry equipment. As a museum, Frederiksdal is not a must, especially for vistors who don’t read Swedish, but on a sunny day stroling around is pleasant enough.

We concentrated on the extensive rose gardens. They are beautifully arranged under the supervision of Lars-Åke Gustavsson, Sweden's internationally famous expert on rose history and gardening.

Fredriksdal is a mile or so from the town center, but it's well worth the walk. A series of old farms and buildings are encountered as you walk the grounds. There are also extensive gardens, but we were a little early in the season for this.

Visited whilst in Helsingborg for the day, a great mixture of museum houses showing helsingborgs history, crafts and gardens with a lovely cafe. My 9 year old daughter and myself thoroughly enjoyed our time here and there was plenty to interest both of us. Well worth a visit, especially on a fine summers day!

It is nice to walk around in the park during spring/summer. There is also a part where historical buildings has been placed. The buildings has been taken from the original location and been rebuilt in this park. There are even an open store with old interior where you can buy old style candy and things.
It you have a lot of time then I would recommend a visit here.
It you are in Helsingborg for a short visit there are some other attractions that you might one to try out first.

A very good place where you can see how it was in the old time in Helsingborg, old houses from the city and it is a nice garden with many vegetables and you also have a lot of exhibitions in the houses.
