Stenstan Vistor Center is an EU funded project that puts Sundsvalls stone town in focus. At the center, you can learn, experience and interact with the facinating history of Sundsvall through modern technology. We are also a Tourist Center and can provide you with maps, recommendations and souvenirs. Welcome to Sundsvall and Stenstan Visitor Center, located on the square Stora torget.

The office is located in an impressive old building. Staff was really attentive and tried to make suggestions based on our preferences and length of stay (many offices nowadays just sell tickets and provide maps or leaflets with no personalised information). We found particularly good that they presented a 10-minute video with the history of the city. Thank you! Tack! :-)

The movie about the city and how it was rebuilt after the great fire in 1888 really gives you a good start before you go out and explore the town and it´s beautiful stone houses.
We would love to have you back in Sundsvall soon again!

I visit Sundsvall for a few days and thought it would be a good idea to get some information about the city.
The employees of the visitor center were very helpful and I had a good talk what to do during the next days. Spoken languages are Swedish, English and German.

They have done a nice job making an old building into a tourist office. Everything from a modern coffee shop to a bit of history you can find inside. The staff is very helpful and everyone spoke excellent English. Wish I had time for a spot of tea.

This visitor centre is in a really fancy building! There are loads of leaflets on the tours and surrounding areas, however I was disappointed by the tourist map, as it was a large map of the entire area, and not a close up of the city centre. There were also no interesting points marked on the map. I felt like this was a shame, as the city has some great interest points. Additionally, there are many dragon statues located around the city, and I managed to find a map locating them (however it was only available in Swedish). There is so much more potential to improve the literature available and to boost the tourism.
The staff were really friendly. There is a toilet available if you ask for the key. There is an attraction room with a VR headset of the rollercoaster. It was really good fun. There are a couple of other displays as well. Make this your first stop in Sundsvall.

I grew up in this town, and went to ask for information I could share with American friends visiting. I never did tell the girl I was from there, but she still had almost no information to give. Even when I asked, she didn't offer much. I was very saddened and disappointed. I love my home town and I want the tourist information to be excellent! This being said, there IS information and maps you can pick up, and I'm sure they will try to answer any questions you have. The building is historic, and very beautiful! In the summers they have had a cute cafe next door that was worth visiting too. Have a wonderful visit in and around Sundsvall, there is a lot to be seen and experienced in this area!

The tourist information office is located in the main square, easy to find. It is well laid out and full of information screens, some touch screens, plus there are people there to help and answer questions you may have. The tourist information office is also a good place to purchase tickets for local shows and purchase souvenirs. Well worth visit to get the most out of your visit to Sundsvall.

What a setting for a tourist office! Do you not have time to queue there is opportunities through modern media materials to find out much on your own. The tourist office offers a bit of local history, a ticket office, souvenirs and a nice cafe.

Not only can you get information about Sundsvall & surrounding area, but you can purchase postage stamps for your cards to send back home. They will direct you to the correct postal box for your cards. They have nice displays(visual/audio). If you're lucky enough (gate open) to go up the stairs outside of their entrance check out the stain glass, murals and concert/theatre hall. I happen upon it while a rehearsal was finishing up, got some nice pictures. My husband keep going back in hopes to see it for himself but the gate going upstairs was locked, only saw it through my pictures. The staff at VC (visitor center) were so helpful & friendly. The VC is right in the town square on the south side.
