Was surprized there was no charge to visit this Museum, we enjoyed it very much, much like Skansen in Stockholm but smaller of course. The Sami buildings were good, ship exhibit, fishing exhibit, ski exhibit.......... all the old buildings and farm equipment. A very enjoyable...More

This museum has an indoor and an outdoor parts. I visited here and joined its midsummer party in the open air. It was unbelievably crowded (in a nice way!) and the food market had diversity and was interesting. The maypole dance was an extra to...More

Visited Gammlia on a nice summer day. We therefore chose to be outdoors and just visit the collection of old buildings from Umeå and the surrounding area. It could have been dull, but very knowledgeable and enthusiastic young guides made it a pleasant experience. We...More

On the day I was there, there weren't many people due to a Burn the Ball tournament. As a result, I received close attention by workers. I learned a lot and enjoyed my visit. My purpose for going was to learn more about my ancestors...More

We had coffee and kake. Their kakes and biscuits were amazing, and all made by themselves. A treat! There is no admission fee so you can go for just the caffee when out walking (or skiing!) but it would be sad to miss the exhibitions.

The best place to know history of Vasterbottens, including clothes, building and ski... It has a main building and some affiliated outside building like old farm are also interesting. As time I went there, there was a great historic market of 19th century
