The church is important as the central part of the Gammelstads Kyrkstad, but is not what makes this place so beautiful. Sure, worth a visit while you're there, but it's only a part of the whole. Several interesting facts about its history though.

This view from this church is very nice and the surroundings are relaxing. I went into the church just to see that there was an open bible, one in English, maybe Lappish, finnish, swedish of course , may be spanish and german.

Interesting church building from the period when Sweden was still catholic. It was a huge investment for the local people to build it almost 600 years ago.

A very interesting modernist appropriation of neogothic style: the lines are milder, the colors - lighter, and lamps and decorations refer to modernism, while general shapes are clearly gothic

..but I cannot say it's outstanding! Of course, if you are there, go for a visit, but not worth to go just for the church!

I like how this church is situated in the middle of the city. I use it to get my bearings when I am out and about exploring the city. The inside of the church is simple but very beautiful. Make sure you get a picture...More
