The name of the company is actually Kiruna Aurora Tours, but the name of the company is not that important. What is important is the name of the person that stands behind it. Stefan is the person who was supposed to be our guide and he was communicating with us all the time. And this, I must say, was one of the most professional attitudes we have ever encountered on our travels. We booked the tour well in advance and paid the deposit. We were then waiting for the only night when we could do it and kept our fingers crossed that the conditions will be good to see the aurora. Other reviews saying that Stefan is willing to do an all-night drive just to get you to a good viewing spot were the decisive factor in our selection of which company to choose. Well, the weather let us down. It was cloudy, with a little snowfall, and it was like that not only in Kiruna but in a very wide area around it. On the day of the tour, we received a phone call by Stefan in the morning. He explained the situation and told us that it is very unlikely we would see anything that day. He promised another call late in the afternoon with the latest weather updates. He did that and unfortunately, the weather hasn't improved. Stefan offered us alternative days for the tour, but we couldn't do it because we were leaving the day after. He apologized, told us that the 400 km drive would be in vain and offered a full refund of our deposit (which we received a few days later). We were amazed by the level of communication, flexibility, and a generous cancellation policy. We have no doubt which tour we will take when we return to Kiruna.

We had a Photography tour with Alex on March 3rd to search for the Northern Lights. Everything was fantastic! Logistics went smoothly, even advising us when times changed to have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights! It was amazing. This was the TRIFECTA of our Iceland, Norway, Sweden search for the Northern Lights and they were the BEST! Alex was low key, professional, and ever present to each guest in our small group. My husband is a budding photographer and he gave great tips! The individual thermos of tea for each guest was a nice touch! We watched with awe as the Northern Lights grew, changed and danced around us for over two hours! Thanks Alex! Washington State

Stefan was an absolutely incredible guide, very knowledgable and had us laughing the entire 4 hour trip. He was incredibly dedicated and made sure that we got to see the Northern Lights even on a cloudy day with a low KP index. Also got to see lots of moose which was a highlight. Sad to see user lulianO2 leave Stefan a bad review. We were in the same trip as him (he was Romanian and was with his partner) and we did not notice any of the issues with the van that he mentions. There may have been a slight petrol smell at the beginning but after about 5 minutes you got used it to and it was fine. His review makes it sound like Stefan maliciously lied to us about the van. Disappointing to hear that he had a bad experience when we had a great one! In fact, at around 1am the user requested to cut the trip short as he was tired, sad as Stefan and the rest of the people in the van were happy to continue on! If you do decide to go, make sure you take a nap beforehand as the trip can go well into the night - our receptionist at the hotel said the previous group were out from 9pm-3am. All in all, had a great experience. Thank-you Stefan, can’t wait to come back when the conditions are better.

Stefan took us out on a night where the conditions were not ideal, however despite this we managed to see the northern lights and he was very committed to ensuring we saw them! The below poor review saying it had a broken car and fumes etc is completely false, as I was on the same tour as this couple and did not experience this at all. Really appreciated the effort Stefan went to, and it was clear how knowledgeable and experienced he was - without this tour we would not have seen the lights. Thank you Stefan!
