First of all a big Thank You to Aron and David- our self driving dog sledge tour was magical in every way. Although we booked so many activities in Absiko ( ice climbing, aurora hunting etc) the self drive tour was the highlight of our trip.
Aron is passionate about the wilderness and his dogs and it is contagious. For the self driving tour (they also have tour where you sit and Aron drives) each person gets a sledge with 4 dogs. You get to experience the strength, speed of the dogs through incredible landscapes. We ended up seeing 5 mooses ! Besides from the beauty you experience a rare sense of freedom.
Midway through the tour you get to have a warm lunch cooked over the open fire in an authentic tipi.
I would recommend a daytime tour when there is still light...Bring warm clothes, forget the cameras and phones. Enjoy the moment and the magic. Aron took picture and sent them to us so we have plenty of footage.
No experience required....but this is an activity for people who love dogs! We will come back for more! It’s a promise! Thank you again!

My wife and I had two private Dog Sledding Tours (1x 4hrs and 1x 2hrs) once with Nora and once with Aron, the owner. We were so much looking forward to the tours as it was not our first-time dog sledding, and we were not disappointed! Both tours were simply perfect, and we enjoy them so much! Nora and Aron took particularly good care of us and took us through some exciting and fun “routes”. The scenery and landscapes are just stunning, and the dogs are just great animals. We could spend hours with them! We could really see the passion of Nora and Aron for the dogs and the sledding. For us personally there are not many other activities which come close to doge sledding: Peacefully sledding through a snowy forest and across a frozen lake while the sun shines and the dogs just go and go… what more could you ask for? It has been the ultimate experience for us and a perfect way to get away from the busy and stressful routine and just get a peace of mind. We for sure will come back! @Aron & Nora: thanks again for providing such an amazing experience! Cheers from Switzerland: Jennifer & Raphael

My husband and I were lucky to go just the 2 of us on a dog sledding with Kiruna Dogsled. Maira picked us up and took us to the facility. Then our guide Nora walked us through the way to run our doglsed. We went for a 3 hour tour in stunning landscapes, in between trees, on a lake, on a river. It was absolutely breathtaking. The dogs are extremely friendly, so excited to go run and it was thrilling to spend time with them, cuddling them and getting to know them.
We stopped in a tipi for a lunch break and got to chat with Nora who is so passionate about her work - it was so nice to hear about her experience.
We had an amazing time. I highly recommend it. @Nora, @Maira, thanks much for the amazing time we had. It makes us want to do it again for a 2-3 days trip.
We hope to come back again soon. Take care!

We booked (and paid) a dogsledding tour weeks in advance.
As we wanted to have a reputable company, we booked via "visitabisko", but unfortunately, they cooperate with "Kiruna Dogsled", so if you book "visitabisko", you book "Kiruna Dogsled".
The night before the tour, we received a very unfriendly and short message from "Kiruna Dogsled" in which they wrote that they cancelled the tour because "the local Sami is moving reindeers" (citation!). As we didn't understand this reason, we asked some people in Abisko and nobody could understand or explain this.
We asked "Kiruna Dogsled" if we can do the tour another day, but they didn't allow this. And they didn't even help us to find any solution.
The problem is that the dogsledding tours in Abisko seem to be sold out very quickly, so you really have a big problem if your trip is cancelled at short notice. Nevertheless, we managed to find another company in Abisko (because of covid, there were not so many tourists) which did the tour with us the same day. When we asked them about the "Sami [...] reindeers", they were really surprised. This other company was very friendly and good.
So we have to say that it was a big mistake to book with "Kiruna Dogsled" first, because they don't cared at all about us, don't understand that the tourists are disappointed when their tour is cancelled, don't help them and are very unfriendly. "Kiruna Dogsled" was a very bad experience during our trip. We even had to contact "visitabisko" ourselves in order to get our money back.

I’ve been trying to reach someone, anyone, since 4pm. Left a message, emailed and kept calling. No one responded. I don’t know whether I am on the tour tomorrow, I don’t know what time to show up or where to show up. I only received a confirmation number and I don’t even know whether to enroll in another tour or whether I’ll get my money back. I booked directly through their website so it’s not even like there’s a middleman miscommunication!

I don’t know how the reviews are so high.

It was an incredible experience! We started on a dogsled tour through the snowy woods of outer Kiruna. We had soup, cheese bread rolls, cinnamon rolls and coffee over an open fire in a tipi.
The guides were very friendly, kind, thoughtful and they take good care of their dogs.
If you want to make your Kiruna-trip unforgettable, book this tour. You will never forget how great it was 😊

Our dog sledding experience with Kiruna Dogsled was magical from beginning to end. My husband, two small children and I absolutely loved every minute of it

I had lots of questions in the lead up to our travel, and Aron was very responsive and helpful, answering all my emailed questions promptly and thoughtfully.

Our guide was patient, professional, friendly and perfect for our family. We really enjoyed talking to him and meeting the beautiful dogs.

The experience itself was unforgettable. So thrilling and beautiful. It was a perfect clear day, and we even got to see wild moose!

I highly recommend Kiruna Dogsled. Definitely one of my top five travel experiences ever.

If you're going to Kiruna, this is an experience you must book! We all had such a great time. David and Aron were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We were allowed to drive the sleds which was great and truly a once in a life time experience. After the sledding we were allowed to sit in with the Huskies and their puppies which was an added bonus. Thanks again guys!

Amazing experience with kiruna dogsled. The guides are so friendly and attentive. Warm clothes and drink was provided. The dogs were excited to run and they took us into the wilderness and frozen river. The views were stunning. We also had amazing time listening to stories while having lunch inside the warm teepee. This activity is highly recommended. Maira and Nora, thanks much for the experience!

An absolutely amazing experience that I cannot recommend highly enough- you must do this when near Kiruna! Christina picked me up from Abisko and was happy to answer any questions that I had. On arrival, warm clothes were offered while the dogs were being prepped. We then went out with the dogs through the most magical landscape that gave you the true feeling of detachment from the rest of the world- it felt like being in a dream! On top of everything else, you could clearly see that the dogs were truly cared for. I said this would be a once in a lifetime activity but I can’t wait to return and try mushing for myself!
