About
Come enjoy the ride of your life with us!! Dog sled trips near kiruna all year around! We offer daily husky sledding trips. During the winter we have morning, and evening trips where you sit on the sled and a trip during the afternoon where you can drive your own team of dogs or share a sled. We are the only company that gives guests the opportunity to drive their own team of dogs in summer, autumn and winter time! Guests drive their own cart when there is no snow and a sled during the winter time. We offer trips from sitting on the sled driven by the guide to sit and drive combo tours and guest driving themselves! Best of all, we are located away from all the other kennels guaranteeing you will NOT pass other teams of dogs and large groups of snowmobile traffic! Just you, the dogs and nature!

This was an amazing experience from start to finish. We were picked up promptly at the scheduled time and whisked off to pick up the remaining passengers. Upon arrival, we were fitted into our warm overalls, boots and mittens. (advice: follow the clothing recommendations on their website. Pack wool mitten liners to use with their mittens). Once dressed, it was out to meet the dogs and start the journey to the teepee. The other reviewers describe the experience better than I could....I just had a great time as we followed the trails through the woods, over frozen streams and on some frozen lakes. Our guide, Lisa, was excellent. We learned so much about the dogs and how they train and behave while pulling the sled. An amazing amount of detail. Before we knew it, we were at the teepee for warm drinks and a pastry. Would I go again? Definitely. This was an amazing experience.

After an easy and precise communication via whatsapp we booked a pre-season tour, that included a pick up in Kiruna as well as driving our own sleds.
We were picked up on time and drove out to the Kennel where we met our guide as well as the dogs. Before starting we were outfitted with proper clothing to keep us warm. We then got to get one team ready ourselves which was a great experience, as we got to find out how the harness etc works.
Before taking off we got a short and sufficient intro into the sled and how the stearing, braking etc works. We could already tell the dogs were very excited and eager to go for the run, because as soon as our guide got to her sled they were ready and starting to pull. We rode about 10km in almost an hour and had a great time, riding through the forest and along the creak. When it started lightly snowing it was just perfect!
After returning to the camp, we fed and unharnessed the dogs before sitting down by a small bonfire, having some coffee, tea and homemade cake (don't miss the cake, it's amazing!). Jordana took a lot of time explaining us how they take care of the dogs, train them etc. The dogs are very well behaved and also well fed and treated with a lot of respect and care!
After a walk through the Kennel and an introduction to the puppies (including some cuddling) we got driven back to Kiruna.
We definitely recommend driving your own sled, it was an amazing experience!

Me and friends were searching which tour that offer the cheap price for husky dog sled and we found Husky Tours Lapland. Eventho it wasn’t the first or second page but we managed to find it. Sending them a message then we have another transaction to bring Indonesian snacks with Jordana. Lol. Jordana and Kent are so lovely (even their kids!)! Didn’t expect the tour but it was so impressive! Tho it was so cold but the camp offered delicious cinnamon roll and milk tea. The dogs are cute even we played with their Malamutes. 😍 We were having fun in our day in Sweden.

Thank you Jordana and Kent! See you soon!

And yes, I do recommend you guys to take the tour with Husky Tours Lapland! 🥰

From start to finish, Husky Tours Lapland was a pleasure to deal with. I first decided on this dogsledding tour operator because they were the only company that was open to having our 1 year old and 3 year old on the sled! They really embrace the whole family and focused on the children throughout the tour. We chose the “Sit back and Relax morning tour”.
We were picked up on time (actually the driver was there early!) and he was a very friendly guy from France. When we arrived at the kennels, we were greeted by Jordana (owner) and Ellie (employee from the UK). Jordana and Ellie were extremely friendly and immediately focused on the kids as I mentioned earlier.
They helped us into additional warmer clothing and changed our boots and mitts to something a bit warmer.
We then headed out to meet the dogs and Kent (owner). Again, Kent was super friendly and helped with getting the kids on the sled.
The ride was pleasant and cold (a balmy -19). The surroundings were beautiful as all the trees were covered in snow and it was quiet. Kent talked about the dogs and about the dogsled racing that he participates in.
After about 20 minutes we stopped for coffee/ apple cider and some of Jordana’s home-baked sourdough blueberry squares which my kids devoured! We had lovely conversations and even met a fellow Canadian who had just started working for Jordana and Kent. After warming up by the fire, we hoped back on the sled and headed back to the kennels.
The kennels are very well done and cared for; the dogs were immediately fed and attended to. It is clear that the 80 dogs are part of the family!
We met the newest members of their family as Kent provided us explanations for each of their names. Our kids loved cuddling these puppy huskies and getting kisses.
We were all sad to say goodbye but it was an amazing adventure and recommend it thoroughly to everyone (including families with young children!)

Summer cart drive - today was a VERY GOOD DAY! I have a huge smile and a mind full of husky info, along with fantastic memories I am already looking forward to embedding. Jordana is warmly welcoming, hugely informative and avidly passionate owner of Husky Tours and while flexibly arranging our visit, she ensured the timing worked for her customers but more importantly, that it wasn’t too warm for her dogs. She gave a comprehensive intro to how to drive the dogs and ride the summer carts, and then she trusted us with her teams. Wr each had 6 dogs to our cart, we got to harness them, and the energy and noise in the build up to departing was indescribably emotional and exhilarating! The trip is well managed and the dogs come first, we had a short rest in the water to cool them down mid-run, We enjoyed sharing the freedom of the life Jordana and family are living, with wild rivers full of fish, quiet spectacular forests and wetlands, and a whole lot of hugely fit, fun and friendly Alaskan huskies. We finished with delicious fire brewed coffee and cake in unique hand crafted surroundings, and we got muddy with some young pups while hearing the stories of the dog pack. The whole trip was a joy, definitely worth the half hour journey from Kiruna (saw reindeer on the road on the way- bonus!), and absolutely worth doing in summer. I hope one day to come back for the winter version!

The dogs howl together. The volume raises and falls away. And as the dogs prepare to set out on their run, they’re excited calls whip up the other dogs that are to be left behind and does not fall away until the anchor brake comes off and todays adventure begins.

The dogs set off as if released from the racing traps and soon we escape the lights of the lodge and we’re into the forest. The snow has fallen afresh and the track is more camouflaged than most days but the dogs know their way and they charge into the night. As we leave the forest into the open land, such beauty - picture perfect. The air is crisp and it’s so quiet. Only the pants of the dogs, the patter of their paws on the snow and the sliding of the cart with the occasional break to keep the gap between the rider ahead. It’s so peaceful. I’m so lucky. I reflect in the moment that as dreams go, it was worth the wait.

Back at base, the dogs are fed, unharnessed and returned back to their homes. One by one, they’re all checked back in and then it’s time to meet the youngsters. We meet the 6 month olds first, two young dogs that like affection. One climbs my knees to get the most attention. Afterwards, it’s on to the pups. They’re one month old. They’re tiny - impossibly small. They shiver as their minute paws with spread legs touch the snow. I grab armfuls of them and tuck them all together. Their fur is soft. Their tiny ears. The snow is falling on their little black furred bodies. I put them down and grab another two and watch the ones I let go stumble over to their mum to see if she’ll let them fed. She won’t, it’s not time. And more of these little black puppies flood from their nest. Nine in all. Becoming more confident in their paws as we’re there with them and tussling with one another. And too soon, it’s time to leave. Time to leave this wonderful place and go back to our realities. A priceless experience and one I’ll remember forever.

If you are looking for a company to go with I can highly recommend Husky Tours Lapland. They are a family run company and their dogs are at the heart of everything they do, which was really important to me. I was with them for 5 days as part of a Charity Challenge trip, where we spent a night in the Sami teepee hut and then the other nights were spent in the wilderness hut. Kent was our wilderness guide and he leads his team from the front and his guidance and instruction were clear and easy to understand. They do also have several other team members of different nationalities to cover several language options of their guests. Jordanna his wife always made sure everyone was well looked after and prepared the most hearty meals following a morning or afternoon of mushing. They were also so flexible with my dietary requirements as I don't eat red meat and they made sure I was well cated for. The location and trails are fabulous with forests, open plains and snow covered lakes and a wide variety of tracks and terrain to challenge you. The dogs are well cared for and clearly love their work and were so friendly. During this trip we each had out own team of 4 dogs (White Tip, Stella, Alanna and Arya) that were were responsible for, from harnessing, feeding, and cleaning up as well as pulling our sled (and boy those girls could pull). I developed quite a bond with my team and was so sorry to say goodbye. The experience was probably one of the best things I've ever done with so many amazing memories including seeing the northern lights and I do hope I'll be able to go back. Thank you so much Kent and Jordanna for everything.

I can’t recommend husky tours Lapland enough.
From start to finish was an amazing experience.
I completed a 5 day trip with Husky Tours (organised via charity challenge) which included a stay over in a tipi and a few nights in a wilderness cabin. Both were an amazing experience and I’m so pleased I had the opportunity to stay in both. The tipi was a real eye opener to Sami life.
Kent, Jordanna and the rest of the team were incredibly welcoming and made you feel a part of their family.
We were given good training on how to care and look after their dogs over our stay. The dogs were friendly, loving and loyal and I couldn’t have asked for a better team of dogs to work with along my trip so thank you Rex, Marshall, Tiger and Bjorn.
The food that was provided on our stay was phenomenal! Jordannas baking is amazing and the meals were hearty and warm which is just what we needed after a days sledding in the cold.
Kent was knowledgable with the sledding routes and gave us lots of information about the wilderness, Swedish life and the dogs.
I can’t express my gratitude to Jordanna and Kent for the experience they have given me! I will forever remember this magical trip.
Thank you so much.
Anyone booking a dog sledding trip in future with this company will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for a Husky experience, then Husky Tours Lapland are 100% the only ones to book with!!

I have just come back from a week with Husky Tours Lapland, as part of a charity challenge, and it was absolutely PHENOMENAL!

This is the most authentic tour you will find and as it is across private land, you will not come across any other tours or people!

On arrival we were provided with all the correct gear to go over our own base layers, to stay warm out on the sled. Then we had tea and cinnamon buns around a roaring fire pit so we could all get acquainted.

Jordanna and Kent gave us a full briefing on how to drive our sleds, harness and look after our team of dogs. We then headed out for a couple fo hours to get to grips with our sleds across the winter landscape.

On arrival back to base, we were greeted with a fabulous hearty homemade meal from Jordanna, which we enjoyed around the fire pit. That evening we stayed in a Sami teepee and Jordanna gave us an overview of the Sami culture. Before we settled down for the night, we were “treated” to a show of the magnificant Northern Lights.

The following morning we headed out to the wildness cabin with Kent, where we spent the next few nights.

Each day we drove our sleds on some spectacular routes across various terrains to get the very best out of our challenge. We were fully briefed on what to do if we fell off, ( and I did indeed fall off ) if we couldn’t get back up by ourselves, Kent was always on hand to give up a lift back up. I fell off a few times and never hurt myself, I always felt in safe hands with Kent.

The wilderness cabin was AWESOME and despite no running water or electricity it was comfortable and cosy. We manually drilled down on the frozen lake for our water and candles and a roaring fire kept us cosy and warm. The home cooking from Jordanna was superb and plenty it go round.

The dogs are absolutely incredible, they love attention and cuddles.
The love and passion Jordanna, Kent and the team have for their dogs is obvious, these dogs are very well breed and very looked after. It’s like one big family.

I had the most AMAZING experience and even cried when I had to say goodbye to my gorgeous team of dogs, Rex, Marco,Kiara and Aqua.

I was totally blown away with such an unforgettable magical experience.
I’m already planning my return.

Thank you Jordanna and Kent for being the most amazing hosts.

If I could rate this more than 5 I would. Me and 10 others took on the charity challenge with husky tours Lapland so we were there for 5 days in total. Starting with the sleep in the tipi which helped us to understand the cold conditions in a traditional Sami way with lots of information from Jordanna about the Sami people and the history of them which was very interesting. We were then taught how to harness and attach our dogs to the sled by the most helpful group of staff!Kent took us on our expedition and we could not of got a better tour guide, he was absolutely amazing from start to finish with his get up and go attitude which was inspiring. The food Kent made was absolutely incredible and gave us the opportunity to try food that we would never try unless we were in this position. This challenge requires hard work but the outcome is so rewarding. The way this family let us live experiences through letting us into their lives was incredible to experience. We knew the northern lights weren’t a guarantee but we were so lucky to experience them and they were amazing. All of the dogs are trained extremely well and these dogs are Kent’s and jordanna’s life and we are so grateful for letting them share this with us. This gorgeous family with the biggest hearts have changed my outlook on life with the best week of my whole life, us as a group can’t thank them enough and miss them all already! Thank you so much guys, I really hope to be back at some point x
