It cost 330SEK per person for a two day pass which is exorbitant. There is not a one day ticket which is ridiculous for those people travelling daily to new places. We arrived at 3 o'clock and there was no reduced price for a short visit. We found out later that there is no charge in the winter. The charge... More

Situated in a beautiful park, Jamtli is a dip in earlier Swedish life. You see many original old buildings (farm, church, bakery, etc) and people in traditional costumes perform the different crafts.

Only the indoor museum was operational during my visit, but I spent far more time there than expected. Great historical perspective is provided. Although displays are in Swedish, an English language audio guide offers wonderful and educational commentary.

Came for the Overhogdal Weaves and was not disappointed. Enchanting and fascinating piece of history. Just a pity there is no translation in English of the Ruth Horneij book available to take home. The booklet by Ulla Oscarsson is a good substitute. But the museum is so much more. Especially loved the petrol station of 1956. My time was limited,... More

The historical interpreters were not yet working and most of the outdoor buildings were not yet open for visitors. It was still interesting - and free- to wander around and see the construction history of this area of Sweden. There is a LOT there. The museum, also free, was very good too. There seemed to be a lot of emphasis... More

It is a museum with an enourmeos high quality, and it is very much with a visit, even if your not really historical interested or so. Just go and look at all the fantastic things there. And buy sustainable suverniers WORTH having! (handcraft... More

Visited the Jamtli Christmas market and had a great time eating and drinking the locally produced food and drink. There was a horse and sleigh ride touring around the site and dog sledging offered. Big outdoor market without stalls placed in little houses and outside fires keeping us warm at -5c. There were candles placed in the snow around every... More

Open all year, but in the summer, this is a living museum. Really fun for young and old, anyone interested in hands on 15-20th century history of the area. The museum next door is well worth a visit as well.

This is a must if you visit Östersund. You need at least one full day to get the most out of your ticket but if you want to come back for a second day it is included in the prize. You will be able to experience Sweden during different periods of history. Visit a household from the 17th century or... More

Wonderful, immersive experience with actors and animals and old cars, fully equipped houses... fantastic! The ticket lets you come back again, and we did. This is a great enough attraction to do two visits.
