I visited Jamtli in late Winter which meant that all of the outside attractions were closed. However, the historical display of life in Jämtland and of the indigenous residents from centuries before was great. Lots of interesting artefacts and tales of days long gone. I...More

Very well planned and arranged. Interesting for younger children and parents. The exposition area is quite big, so make sure to spare at least 2h for this activity. Superb Christmas market. Very friendly staff.

Great place to visit, especially when the weather is bad outside. Good audio guide, interesting artefacts, suitable for all ages. If the weather is good, the outside exposition is a nice walk through local history.

I didn't have time to see everything, but the exhibitions inside were rather mildly interesting and seemed a bit chaotic. The Karolinerna exhibition which I particularly wanted to see felt unfinished and was rather underwhelming. In another part there were supposed to be some presentations...More

We were passing through Östersund and saw this museum advertised, but had no idea it would be so good! The permanent, indoor museum was good - the 1,000 year old tapestry is amazing! However, the highlight for us was the outdoor, living museum. We wandered...More

Bought the indoor exhibition ticket and got to see the beautiful art, the actors were great at explaining about the historical paintings and there was a tour guide available. There is a large Viking area plus a very nice Kiss museum at the lover story...More
