We rented a boat and did the Gota canal in 5 days. It is lovely. The people at the canal lock are really helpful. The marinas are in perfect condition and offer always different activities...I would come back

In January the canal will be closed for boat travel, due to winter. It will typically be frozen over. In good winter conditions, it can be great for skating, though.
