Placed upposite of Elsinore Castle, this a state of the art cultural house, containing one of the best and most modern libraries in Denmark, a concerthall, a good cafe (great coffee and light meals), a street food-venue (good variety), a museum, and a teachers college. Often, the upper levels of the library offer on add-on litterature-exhibition to the exhibitions at the neighbouring museum, M/S Søfart. The upper levels of the library offer good views of the area, Elsinore Catle and the Sound all the way to Sweden.

We stopped in by chance as the architecture is such that you just have to look inside. There is a Hamlet exhibition just now 'To be or not to be' with six of seven exhibits spread over the library, really thought provoking and interesting and accessible for those who are unfamiliar with the text as well. Well worth a visit!

The kulturhavn is on the way to Kronberg castle and free to look around - with a nice cafe on the ground floor. If all libraries were like this we would all be spending much more time in them. It's a beautiful space with gorgeous furnishing and design but above all really caters for the community - inspiring. Also there is a telescope on the top floor if you want to see what folk on the cruise ships are wearing. Plenty of comfy seating on indoor balconies to look out over the water.

My visit was to a concert with Kim Larsen. 1200 people standing in public, surrounded by beer-stands.
The old yard seems to perform different types of culture: food, music and theatre as well!
But it is not practical with a toilet in the basement!

An interesting conversion of old industrial property at the ship yards into modern uses including food halls, a museum and some shopping and eating. It attracts a lot of people and is a central part of the creative new area built out of a rundown obsolete shipping area.

This building has so much going on inside of it that I wondered what it actually was. Very nice food and drink inside and to get out of the elements.

The Culture Yard now build was the former dry dock in Helsingor which has a great location for watching the sea towards Helsinborg in Sweden on the side of the island. The whole area is known as the Culture Harbor. The library is part of the complex for culture and art, theatre, music and exhibitions. Of all the library I've seen so far in Denmark this one of the best and has exceptional from many aspects because the library where you want to spend hours to read books and get more informations you want. One thing I like about it. It is because there is an integrated library for children at the first floor which can the adventure of creative expression. The place is very spacious and you'll find a quiet place for own. On the third floor has also a great comfortable chairs to sit coupled with a great view towards Kronborg castle. There are things to do for every age group. In the heart of The Culture Club is the modern multimedia center, designed around of the concept of urban spaces. I highly recommend to see this place because there are restaurants and coffee shops for family, groups and individuals.

We took a two-year-old to the library here and he loved it. Not only are there wonderful books for him to enjoy but the environment is fun and allows him to jump around and burn off some energy between books.
