Kronborg Castle towers above a very narrow promontory between the coasts of Denmark and Sweden. The renaissance castle stands majestically with its spires, towers, columns, sandstone and copper roofs. Kronborg Castle is a magnificent renaissance...more

I came here on 31 August which is the last day of their Hamlet Live performance this year. They bring the play to life by acting out different scenes throughout the castle - this means you need to be aware of the schedule and be...More

So we were primarily interested in coming to see the castle itself, but we quickly fell in love with the scenes from Hamlet performed around the castle. My kids, 13 and 11, LOVED it. It was their favorite part of our Denmark trip, and we...More
We had a great time at Kronborg Castle. The actors performing the Hamlet show are super and really make for a fab day out. Lots of fun and good for families. Such a laugh but great acting and sword fight. Soooo glad we went! Shout...More
If you are as obsessed with Shakespeare - and specifically Hamlet - as I am, you will not be disappointed by this tour. The actor who plays Horatio is endearing and plays his role to perfection as he convinces you that Hamlet is truly his...More

We went on a Saturday and they had actors reenacting parts of Hamlet (in English) all over the castle. Make sure you check the posted programme to catch a part you want to see. In-between acts you can visit parts of the castle and go...More
Whilst enjoying our second stay in Copenhagen, we used our Copenhagen Cards to travel by train to Helsingnor to visit the Kronborg Slot.
The train journey took about 30 minutes and then the stroll from the railway station along the seafront to the castle entrance...More

I would allow half a day to see everything. I had purchased the ‘Copenhagen Card’ which includes all museums, entrance fees to the castle plus public transport. You can purchase the tickets upon arrival but I guess during high season there might be a long line so maybe booking in advance might be worth while.
