The area
Address
Neighborhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

This place is a true hidden treasure located next to the Danish Parliament in the very heart of Copenhagen. The park is small, rather like a garden, with a lovely atmosphere, flowers and a fountain. If you need a break from the living metropolis, then have a seat in this lovely garden at absorb it all or bring a good book. The garden, although one of the most beautiful places in Copenhagen in the summer, is not crowded. The garden is hidden, so if you do not know it is there, it is easy to miss, but do not miss out on it.

When you need a rest from touristing next time in Copenhagen, go to the royal library garden. It is a most beautiful little place behind Christiansborg, with a fountain in the middle. It has an exciting historie too. It's a perfect place to relax for a while, have your lunch or a drink. You can't spend all day there, but an hours or less. As most places in Cph children are welcome to run arround and play.

Abutting the old building, the Black Diamond is worth a visit both for its interesting exterior and for the nice espresso bar with deck overlooking the harbor.

What a hidden, out-of-the-way little garden in the middle of old Copenhagen! Situated between Christiansborg Palace and the Royal Library, this is so peaceful and quiet and so beautiful. Lovely place to just sit and relax with stunning views of the palace and the library!

If you’re wandering round the parliament area do stop off and enjoy these library gardens. Even in January people were enjoying sitting on the benches reading a book in the beautiful surroundings. Absolutely gorgeous.

Having just visited the War Museum we took a detour through this small but quaint park, there's not a lot here other than the large central pool, but it is very quiet and a nice place to rest a while.

We accessed this garden from the courtyard that is between Parliament and some Government Buildings as we walked along Rigsdagsgarden from one side of the Slotsholmen Island to the other.

What an oasis. A beautiful garden with lots of trees, grass and seats, both in the shade and in the sun, with a large pond and fountain in the middle. There are some statues around the place and the view to the back of the Royal Library is very attractive.

We sat, rested, people watched and enjoyed the tranquility of this place for a good period of time. I would certainly be coming here regularly for lunch if I worked nearby.

You walk in off the street through a building into a courtyard, and then another and it opens up into the garden of the Royal Library. It is an oasis of peace and quiet, with the structure and design of a small public garden to elevate the spiritual capacity of those that enter. It is so peaceful here, you wonder if you are in the inner gardens of a sanitorium.

But they did let me out to write this review.....

This is a cute little garden, with a pool in the middle a little fountain, and nice-looking buildings at either end (Royal library at one end, and Christiansborg Palace in the other direction). You cannot enter the library directly from the garden, or vice versa, but it's still nice to walk through here on the way to and from the library.
