Address
Neighborhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

We drove to this beautiful building where the Phantom of the Opera is currently playing. The building dates back to the 1800's so we are told. It looks really nice and a nice place to walk around.

We thoroughly enjoyed 'Annie get your gun' at the NyTeater last evening. The theatre was very classical and hygglie as the Danes say! Whatever show you are going to see here you will not be disappointed! We had an amazing theatre experience and it was well worth the money spent!

An ornate building, it looked lovely in the morning light. Many decorative flourishes include circular and arched windows and a dome with a classically themed sculpture atop.
Unveiled in 1908 it has some of the best attendances in the country. Popular as always, the majority of presentations continue to be musicals.

Nice and decorated but smallish theatre. Good parking nearby. Efficient staff and ok performance (Phantom of the Opera) but we would have preferred the original language..

This beautiful building is since a few years hidden by an enormous metro construction site. Cranes, containers, concrete and planks obliter the view on the Theatre building. The more, there is a belle epoque kiosk where one can sit to buy a drink, which is not indicating their prices ( ONLY SUCH A PLACE IN COPENHAGEN THAT I HAVE SEEN ) and rip you off at 11 euro for a coffee and biscuit. You surprise comes when you have to pay. Coffee in Copenhagen is normally half of that price. Beware of the kiosk with the hippy looking staff, they lure you in!

Dear Conrad57,
Unfortunately you have made this review for the wrong theater. The theater you are talking about in your review is The Royal Theater (Det Kongelige Teater) - we are Det Ny Teater.
Could you possibly remove your review for the Royal Theater from our profile, please?
Thank you.
Best,

I had the pleasure of coming to this gorgeous theater for a business event. The setting itself was both interesting and memorable, as we dined amongst theater costumes and spotlights. The highlight of the dining evening though came from the staff, all of whom are accomplished singers. They delivered truly impressive musical performances between services to the delight of all us guests.

We are very excited to be attending a showing of Phantom of the Opera before our cruise in October. The show we are attending is a matinee. Can anyone tell me what type of dress most wear to a matinee?

It is a place where you can dress as you like. There are people that are dresses up and people that are more casual dressed. I would recommend to dress smart but not to dressed up

Hello,
I am interested in booking tickets for Phantom of the Opera. My father will be attending with me and has difficulty with a lot of stairs. If we book in the balcony is there an elevator? Also how would I find out if certain seats had obstructed views of the stage? Thanks
