Neighborhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Popular with locals and tourists alike, it's great for shopping or grabbing a bite. You can get very different kinds of food - smørrebrød, oysters, smoked fish, pastry, tacos, tapas.... Plenty of choices! We loved to eat there and try new things. It's busy at peak times, but absolutely worth a short wait.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 10, 2023

Yes, another market visit, this is only getting better, am wondering if my next Stop Berlin can even come close! My god, the produce, the freshness, the quality, the variety, it’s just astounding Am very surprised that no tourist recommendations are found in all the what to do in Copenhagen sides! This place is brimming with people, the locals come here to shop for whatever their hearts desire from a simple espresso, all the way round Caviar, freshly baked breads & pastries etc etc The produce is stunning, the seafood variety simply great, and oh boy the meats…… Enjoy this pictorial as I think this is one of the finest I have come across Definitely worth a visit, don’t take a meal the day when you go there, trust me! This is a lovely little place to spend a few hours. There's lots of different food stalls to try out - we had Smorrebrod which was delicious. There's a really nice atmosphere making it a cool place to hang out for a few hours

I live in Copenhagen, but I’m not danish, so very easy to give some recommendations:
I like this place and shopping often, I buy organic food and I like to buy fish, and gluten - free pizza ., well prices are very danish , but sometimes food is much better quality than at the supermarkets.
For foreigns visitors good idea to go to feel danish atmosphere, and enjoy glass of good quality wine and wonderful snacks.

Truly a taste of local Denmark. This place was bustling, all the stores had something I wanted to try and taste or look at, the food was amazing.
It was a real bonus that it was undercover given we visited in February and it was freezing.
Only note is that indoor seating is very limited so be prepared to wait or stand.

Fantastic open air market with the freshest produce in Copenhagen! There is also a fresh flower and plant market and plenty of great small restaurants inside to get takeaway lunch, though it’s terribly expensive. For a splurge, there are markets for fresh olives, meats and cheeses, as well as fresh seafood. For a yummy, yet reasonably priced treat, I highly recommend the empanadas restaurant.

A great food gem! This market covers 2 or 3 buildings including stalls selling fresh meat, a building selling fresh fruits and vegetables, and lots of other stalls selling pastry, chocolate, seafood, bakery and restaurant quality food stores.
We bought Summerbird chocolate inside, drank Danish draft beer and ate sushi for dinner. It closes at 7 in normal days and it’s worth spending some time strolling inside.

This is a great market to go with a family (especially older ones who can order and pay on their own) because there is something for everyone. We also enjoyed our coffee from coffee collective and I picked up some beers to bring to our apartment from Mikeller and friends. The outdoor green market also has good prices for nice produce. Finding seating is sometimes hard during peak weekend times but it was raining one time we were there. Another time it was to find seating inside or out.

It was time to try something typical and so we decided to stop for lunch in this wonderful market in the center of Copenhagen. We were greeted by various stands, I was immediately struck by the open-air fruit and vegetable market and the fish stall. I ate a fish and spinach ball with an unpronounceable name (fiskefrikadeller), which was good, with a slightly mushy consistency and a strange, slightly bitter flavour. Then my brother tried the fried calamari with potatoes at the fish counter, I also tried it but I wasn't thrilled. The frying was a little too soft.
Finally we tried the very famous Smørrebrød, slices of rye bread on which various ingredients are arranged: eggs, shrimps, cheese, herring, salmon, meat, mayonnaise etc. I took the one with salmon salad and my brother the one with chicken and mushrooms. What can I say, very good, a little difficult to eat. In total we would have spent around 30/35 euros and we left super full, I recommend it if you want to try typical and authentic food at modest prices.

Amazing
This is a must if you are in copenhagen. We ate breakfast and lunch here. We also had delicious coffee. All of the stalls offer high quality items. Paleo is a must for lunch- it is a completely gluten free restaurant- we had one of the burgers, the chicken club wrap and the sweet potato wrap. They were all delicious. The fruit and vegetables stall in between in the two buildings sells the freshest and most delicious produce and it is reasonably priced.
This is perfect for all of the family. There is something for everyone

This was our first stop on our second . The market was kept unremarkably clean with toilets available outside of the market. There’s two separate indoor markets, both offering a myriad of options, ranging from fresh meat and fish, danish pastries and cooking utensils. Between them outside, is market stalls selling flowers, herbs and various fruit and vegetables
You could easily spend over an hour here we enjoyed a coffee, pastries and smørrebrød. We enjoyed our smørrebrød, at a breakfast style bar whilst watching the ‘open sandwiches’ prepared with great ease by friendly, hard working staff. The prices aren’t as extortionate as you’d expect, considering what people say ‘Copenhagen is so expensive!’
Overall, a beautiful market, hosting a plethora of ingredients and baked good with welcoming vendors.
