For once, it's the tourists who get it right – locals almost never experience Copenhagen in this way, and they're missing out on a treat, experiencing the old city centre from a different perspective and seeing almost all the downtown attractions from the water. Canal Tours Copenhagen offer four different tours of the city, ranging from 60-75 minutes in duration, both with or without a guide. They leave from Gammel Strand and Nyhavn, with longer ones taking you as far as the Little Mermaid and out into the Oeresund Channel to the tiny fortress island of Trekroner. On Sunday and Thursday evenings during summer months there's even a 90-minute jazz cruise, with live music aboard the boat.Armed with a strong fleet of 16 comfortable boats, six of which are heated and covered, the Canal Tours takes you through a guided journey along the city s harbor and canal. At least one of the multilingual staff members is always onboard, enlightening guests on the picturesque surroundings. Choose from the various tours available. And for something unusual, go for the Dinner Cruise, where you can enjoy a delectable meal as you cruise along the waters. And if you have charted your own itinerary, then just go ahead and rent one of our boats.

We arrived via a cruise ship into Copenhagen. Once we exited finding a hop on bus for Stromma was easy. We were advised by the driver's assistant where to get off the bus to board the boat, but frankly this part of the tour was very disorganized, and confusing. Plus the buses were packed and lots of people standing. It... More

Dear Daryl K, Thank you for your review. I'm very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Grand Tour around the canals. On very busy days, the port does get chaotic but we are constantly trying to improve this. I hope you had a great time in Copenhagen. Best regards Josefine More

This was our favourite activity during our 6 day trip.Good way for understanding orientation of the city. Good value ticket for 48 hrs with hop on and off facility. Best method of transport for us to take lots of photos around the city. Many opportunities to photograph extensive range and diversity of building/architecture. this is a lazy way to check out a lot of the sights of Copenhagen. The city has a number of canals which allows a view of most of the major attractions...and this tour provides a chance to see them without having to worry about traffic or staying clear of the thousands of bike riders on the road.

We came to Canal Tours 10:50am, paid 160 DKK for 2 boat rides and were told "boat will leave11:30am". The staff and the cashier decided to be "greedy for the owner" and just fill the boat up completely and the boat left at 12:06pm, not nice at all. We were all sun toasted for so long and then the boat... More

A good way to view Copenhagen from a different perspective and also get a glimpse of how Copenhagen people enjoy canal living. This tour takes you through commercial neighborhoods as well as some residential ones (where the tour guide must stop speaking to maintain peace and quiet for the residents). You also get to pass through some low bridges where... More

We wanted to get a good view of Copenhagen from the water and this is a perfect way to do that. We were traveling with our elderly father so doing a walking tour of the city was just not the best choice as a tour. We were told to get on at the Gamla Stan stop instead of Nyhavn because... More

We bought a Copenhagen 72 hour card and this attraction is free for the card. A very interesting way to see the city if you are staying limited time.

It is important to at least walk along some of the canals of Copenhagen, and better (if you can) take a canal tour. It's a one-hour guided tour, which allows you to see Copenhagen from another point of view. The starting point is at Nyhavn. For me it's a must-do just like Bateaux Mouches in Paris or a canal tour... More

We enjoyed the canal boat tour. We took it on a late sunny afternoon. Our boat was not crowded, and the Captain was kind enough to let us take our folded baby stroller on the boat with us. The tour guide spoke 4 languages, and she gave us an overview of the city from the water's point of view. Copenhagen... More
