For once, it's the tourists who get it right – locals almost never experience Copenhagen in this way, and they're missing out on a treat, experiencing the old city centre from a different perspective and seeing almost all the downtown attractions from the water. Canal Tours Copenhagen offer four different tours of the city, ranging from 60-75 minutes in duration, both with or without a guide. They leave from Gammel Strand and Nyhavn, with longer ones taking you as far as the Little Mermaid and out into the Oeresund Channel to the tiny fortress island of Trekroner. On Sunday and Thursday evenings during summer months there's even a 90-minute jazz cruise, with live music aboard the boat.Armed with a strong fleet of 16 comfortable boats, six of which are heated and covered, the Canal Tours takes you through a guided journey along the city s harbor and canal. At least one of the multilingual staff members is always onboard, enlightening guests on the picturesque surroundings. Choose from the various tours available. And for something unusual, go for the Dinner Cruise, where you can enjoy a delectable meal as you cruise along the waters. And if you have charted your own itinerary, then just go ahead and rent one of our boats.

Was taking a look at the canal nearby and by chance asked at the Stromma Boat booth if my Copenhagen Card was valid on their boats - thinking I would get a reduction maybe. Delighted to find it was free to partake of the boat tour. I did just that. Lots of sights pointed out to me. An opportunity to... More

The tour takes 1 hrs and you will get a really good idea of Copenhagen this way. The information by the speakers are relevant, but do a bit of study yourself and get much more benefits from the tour. I am living in Copenhagen, and do this tour every year. Relaxing, and informative

Our guide was experienced in several languages, and he had a humorous way about him that kept our attention. (He also has a terrific voice, as he spontaneously broke into the Hallelujah Chorus as a tribute to Leonard Cohen!). Perfect length to see the sites of Copenhagen.

Definitely a really excellent way to see Copenhagen. There are a lot of very low bridges and so when the lady says sit down its really important to do it! (so many people ignored her until she needed to urgently shout at them to sit). I would say, if you're going in winter, that is essential to wrap up warm,... More

Over many years of visiting Copenhagen we have come to see the harbour trip as an essential part of the experience. It lasts about an hour and covers many key sites so ideal if staying a short time in the city. We love the tour whatever the weather but obviously being on the water on a sunny day is the... More

We did the canal tour of the city, which is a great way to see the sights from the water. An excellent commentary and the boat has covered seats, which was good protection against the sun and rain if it was needed. Can highly recommend this tour to all visitors to Copenhagen.

We went on this tour when it was a beautiful sunny but very cold day and we were so glad we did. You get shown around by a very knowledgable and friendly guide, I think our guide was called Oscar. Would definitely recommend people to try this tour, especially if new to the city like we were.

It was a nice boat ride through the old canals of copenhagen, mostlry created in the 1600's. Had a great guide who spoke fluently in English. Pointed out the sites and we got a water side view of the famous mermaid on the rock. All in all, a worthwhile time.
