For once, it's the tourists who get it right – locals almost never experience Copenhagen in this way, and they're missing out on a treat, experiencing the old city centre from a different perspective and seeing almost all the downtown attractions from the water. Canal Tours Copenhagen offer four different tours of the city, ranging from 60-75 minutes in duration, both with or without a guide. They leave from Gammel Strand and Nyhavn, with longer ones taking you as far as the Little Mermaid and out into the Oeresund Channel to the tiny fortress island of Trekroner. On Sunday and Thursday evenings during summer months there's even a 90-minute jazz cruise, with live music aboard the boat.Armed with a strong fleet of 16 comfortable boats, six of which are heated and covered, the Canal Tours takes you through a guided journey along the city s harbor and canal. At least one of the multilingual staff members is always onboard, enlightening guests on the picturesque surroundings. Choose from the various tours available. And for something unusual, go for the Dinner Cruise, where you can enjoy a delectable meal as you cruise along the waters. And if you have charted your own itinerary, then just go ahead and rent one of our boats.

This is a one hour non-stop trip. We just turned up at Nyhaven at 12:15 and bought tickets for the 12:30 trip. It did not seem necessary to book in advance. The trip was very good providing views and information about key buildings, but also some sights that you would not otherwise see. Good value at 100KR per person.

Thoroughly enjoyed the boat tour around Copenhagen. Tour guide was full of knowledge and we got to see parts of the city we didn't know about which was fab. We even got to have a drink on board as we cruised around. Very enjoyable.

This tour was a stunning start to our holiday in Copenhagen ... This was a part of the boat+bus Stromma package that we had bought which is totally worth every penny you spend on it ... The canal tour takes you under every possible low hanging bridge in Copenhagen and it's great fun to duck each time you go under... More

Great morning activity for those newly arrived in Copenhagen. We saw pretty much all major landmarks in the city. Our tour was in three languages. Jana was awesome!

The weather was excellent during our tour, the guide was informative and fun to listen to. Got to know a bit of history of the city, got to see really beautiful places and all in all-you have to experience what this boat tour can offer. You won't be disappointed.

Make sure you decide where to sit as some boats have glass top and in some seats the windows do not open. If you are by an open widow, you'll be able to stand up and take pictures. The history is wonderful

Its a great tour with a lot of information and interesting sights and if you dont really like walking but still want to see a lot of things in just one hour its a super opportunity. Its a good way to get an impression of Kopenhagen and to see all the important sights, especially if its your first day.

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
