About
At The Standard we will be offering you an exciting selection of some of our top favorite local, regional and international jazz artists, often in unique combinations or performing music that you will not hear them perform elsewhere. Neighborhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Co-founded and lead by jazz pianist Niels Lan Doky, this is one of the most beautiful and comfortable jazz club I've experienced, located in a renovated art deco building on a waterfront promenade. The show was a young Danish talented singer Amanda Thomsen with a Swedish-Danish Brickman Dall Trio, playing standards and some own compositions. Very nice experience.

I have been two times in this place. Both of them in one month. The concert featured Debie Sledge as a singer, Niels Lan Doky as a pianist , Graig Earle as a bassist and Niclas Bardeleben as drumer. I absolutely loved them. the atmosphere was cosy and the sound was so clear. But most of all i liked the view out of the window as the club is next to the harbor :D

I have been here a few times in the last year and every time I come I thoroughly enjoy myself. They always have great concepts and performers, and when it is paired with a great bar with good drinks and a friendly staff, it's a win win situation. This is a great evening out on the town and will give you an experience you will be talking about the next day :)

This past March I spent several nights at this most perfect intimate & sophisticated jazz club. Set in Nyhavn with perfect view of harbor & housed with fantastic restaurants THE JAZZ STANDARD is a building from 1930s,exceptional talent & first class musicians from all over the world. I've visited several Jazz clubs from NYC Boston,Paris & Cali etc but THE JAZZ STANDARD in Copenhagen is my favorite. I'm going back for Jazz Festival July1 & if you're a jazz enthusiast I beg you to look this gem up. Exceptional venue. Go! Thestandardcph.dk. Look the club up on Facebook. Superb musicians now & during jazz festival in July. Including renown jazz drummer ALVIN QUEEN

I was invited by a friend to see Getz/Gilberto and Nancy Harms at the Standard Jazz Club. On walking up to the club I was firstly amazed by the beautiful 1930's building standing proud at the harbour wall; absolutely beautiful.
The club is set at the back of the building, I did have a choice of different restaurants to eat prior to the concert but unfortunately I had already eaten; this was a mistake. I will be going again where I will take advantage of the dine and jazz ticket. This seemed to be such a good idea and price, a door to a wonderful night out. (These tickets are easy to purchase via the website).
The music was mind blowing and a feast to the ears. I cannot share with you how good it was, my only suggestion is to go and experience it yourselves. Whether you are going on your own, as a romantic night out or with friends, do not go to Copenhagen and miss out on this absolute treat.
I will certainly go back!

We walked about the waterfront after our boat ride and wanted to have a drink at the Strand but it was closed. Though there were other cafe’s around. So we were okay.

After dinner downstairs, we had close-in seating for a memorable session by Niels Lan Doky, co-owner, Alvin Queen and a young Danish bassist.. Perfect acoustics and comfortable chairs. Cash bar. Hearing the next generation of jazz musicians in Mr. Doky's New Legacy program is a treat.

The cost of tickets? "Prices are reasonable"? What does that mean. The website is not tablet friendly.

I don't understand your problem? I use it on my phone and it is very easy to navigate. There is a menu for tickets, both a ticket calendar as well as a place you can see the exact prices of tickets and you can also purchase a dinner and Jazz Package.
