Attended a weekend course (IPP2) at Kayak Republic, which was a really good experience. Very professional instructors with a good understanding of how to stepwise build up skills and confidence. I had no idea how much I could learn in just two days. Of course, the training ground also contributed to a joyful weekend, the port of Copenhagen offers a perfect scene for urban kayaking. And the famous moules frites lunch at Kayakbar was tasteful and energizing.

Amazing 2-hour guided tour by kayak along the canals of Copenhagen. Our guide Laura was knowledgeable and great company on the tour through the waterways of this historic city. Highly recommend Kayak Republic as a more adventurous than the usual tour bus way to see Copenhagen.

Amazing Kayak hire. I would recommend following the route on the map because it’s really helpful and scenic. You can get double kayaks which are what we hired. It’s fine for all ages as long as you can swim 150 metres. You must make sure you are not to loud in Freetown Christiana because of local rules. Definitely hiring Kayaks from here again!

We booked the City Tour. Great idea to see the city from a different perspective. Unfortunately, the experience didn‘t hold up to what it promised. We did not have any prior experience (which is ok according to the website) and only got some minimal instructions on paddeling after asking the guide, there was no proper briefing. We struggeled with paddeling but did not get any feedback on how to do it better. Consequently, we fell behind the group all the time and did not catch any of the information on the city by the guide if there were any (which we are not sure of). Later during our vacation, we did another kayak tour. This was a completely different experience as we were carefuly instructed before the tour and also well taken care of during paddeling by the guide. We cannot really recommend this tour for people without prior experience or expecting information on the city. This is a pity because we really like the idea of sightseing from this perpespective. On the upside, the bar and restaurant are great!

Really bad experience with them. The day before we where supposed to go kayaking, a message was broadcast on the radio that there had been so much rain in Copenhagen that the canals were flooded and there were now cholera bacteria in the water, whereby staying in the water was a health hazard. My friend and I tried that day to call them without success. The day after where we where supposed to go kayaking (19/8) we went there to talk to them, to which we were told we should write an email and then we would get our money back. It is now 4 weeks ago and we have sent two emails and called and talked to them 3 times but we have not received a response, other than on the phone where they have said that they would answer our email and it was of course regrettable they had not answered our mail. Such a waist of Money. I can far from recommend them. Rather spend your money somewhere else, because should you end up in the same situation as us, you will never see that money again, nor should you expect them to respond to your emails if you try. Was it an opportunity to give negative stars I would have done it 🤷🏼♀️

The Copenhagen Kayak City tour is advertised as being suitable for everyone, even those with no experience. Unfortunately, although we pointed out that we had very little experience we were given only perfunctory instruction. We were given some brief guidance on steering but no advice on the best way to paddle. There was a fairly strong wind and even though it was obvious we were struggling our guide ignored this and continued to paddle throughout the tour too fast for us to keep up. For much of the tour we were far behind our guide and on a number of occasions she was so far ahead that she was out of sight round corners. She would have had no idea had we capsized.
Guides must be prepared to go at the speed of the slowest and should ensure that everyone has the required instruction, competence and strength to participate in the tour. The company should either only accept experienced kayakers or be prepared to accommodate the needs of those with little or no experience or do not have strength and speed of other participants on the tour.
We also heard very little about Copenhagen as each time we caught up with the group, our guide was off again at full speed.
We did send an email to the company after our tour, but as we got an unsatisfactory answer we are putting this review on Trip Advisor.

My two sons and I took part in the green kayak initiative whilst in Copenhagen and it was a wonderful experience. You get a kayak for up to 2 hours for free but in return you have to collect rubbish from the harbour as you go. The harbour is great to paddle round with lovely views and the harbour is really clean. We worked hard to make sure we filled our buckets and my sons had a real sense of achievement as a result. A really good experience and glad to do our bit for the environment. Would highly recommend.

If you have any rules regarding the possibility to cancel a booking, you should be informed when the booking was made. Futhermore the lack you response via the e-mail is horrific.
I tried to cancel a booking more than 4 days before. First they informed me that a refund wasn’t possible, then I informed them that didn’t appear on website and since I hadn’t received the service I paid for, I expected a full refund.
They haven’t responded since (3+ days)
At last, I checked if the time I booked was still available after I tried to cancel. And it was.
So it not like I prevented anyone else from booking at that time.

The 2 houres mornig City Tour was great!! It's also good for beginner. Xenia is a good guide and gave us many informations about Copenhagen. It is a nice way to see the buildings and houseboats from the water...
Also the kayak bar has good meals and a nice atmosphere.

Hello, is it too cold for kayaking in late November?
Written November 14, 2019
Hello!
When you rented a kayak for your own adventure, do you get all the gear with it?
Also, is Kayak Bar still running? The link to it doesn't seem to work.
Cheers, Zoe

Hallo..is it possible for children 9&15 years? if possible how much the price for 2 adult n 2 children? Thanks
Written July 13, 2018
Hey there!
If you want to join our daily city tour, the chilldren must be at least 15 years old. It is because it is an open tour and if the kids are small they might slow down the entire group.
However, you can book a private tour only for your family and you will go in double kayaks (adult + child). In that case, we would go at your preferred tempo. The tour is 450kr per person and you can book it online on our webpage.
Best,
Mario

Hi! I'm looking to book for one person. Do you offer guided tours for single kayaks? Or would I have to join other people to share a double kayak to get a guided tour?
Thanks
Written June 14, 2018
Hi Hannah!
Thanks for reaching out! We do tours in double kayaks most of the time. However, if the person has kayaked before and can handle a kayak or there is uneven number that we provide customer with single kayaks, hence, it is definitely possible to use a single kayak during our tours.
Best,
Mario

Hi kayakers,
I have been looking at renting one of your kayaks in the summer and I was wondering if you check the swimming requirement of 150m without a floatation aid. I certainly can but my partner isn’t so sure should we invest in some lessons to get them up to the requirement before coming to Copenhagen and renting a kayak
Thanks in advance

Hi Abigail!
Do not worry about that. We just want to make sure people are able to swim in case they fall in the water. We provide life jackets that must be worn at all times, so that will already make sure to keep you above the water.
We hope to see you at Kayak Republic this summer!
Cheers

Hi. Would it be possible to join a tour on Friday 7/10 in the morning?
How would I get there on public transport from Anager?

Hi here.
You are very welcome to make a booking.
Tripadvisor won´t let me put in a link. So you need to visit our web page again, and make your booking.
Since I don´t know were you live, then I can´t guide you. So the easy way would be to grip a taxi.
