Address
Neighborhood: Inner Noerrebro
Located just north of The Lakes, this neighbourhood is a melting pot of small quirky clothing stores, dozens of pizzerias and eateries of all types, a street almost entirely devoted to antiques, several microbreweries and even a couple of Michelin starred restaurants. Here you’ll also find Assistens Cemetery which is an ecclectic mix of tombstones as well as a recreational park and where you will find the tombstones of famous Danes, such as writer Hans Christian Anderson and physicist Niels Bohr. Inner Noerrebro is also home to one af the most popular theatres in Copenhagen, called Noerrebro Theatre. It shows both popular musicals and plays, as well as productions of a more experimental nature.

Fantastic!

Fantastic displays of animals, I have to say I was not really interested when visiting and after seeing reviews saying it was small thought maybe there was not much to see but how wrong and it ended up being amazing!

The way the skeletons are displayed is incredible, it is very interesting, it is really good for children aswell, our child really enjoyed themselves there and was really interested in the displays!

Definitely recommend!

Cozy, also with a guided tour

Really liked this place, and thought it a shame they are moving to a new place.
Was on a guided tour after closing time, our guide Marie, was both sweet, skilled and very knowledgeable.
Would love to come again, and am excited about whether the new place can be just as good.

Interesting place to visit
Feb 2020
There are many interesting items on the expo for the 5 year old toddler.
For a kid it provides plenty of the new experience and full-scale animals. Being more adult and having seen a similar museums elsewhere one may notice some inconveniences. Some descriptions are in dual langueage Danish/English, some are not. Some descriptions are in the dark difficult to read. And sometimes it is difficult to capture the story line. Overall great place with many very interesting items put in a bit unstructured way.

Medium in display size, Large in number of children
Nov 2019
Located over a couple of floors at the university it contains some interesting specimens. Large emphasis on children education as we found out by the huge number of school groups voting while we were there. Had the children been a little better behaved I might have given it 4 star review, but it was very hard to read and look at things with kids running around like noisy maniacs and bumping into or pushing other museum users out of the way. One poor older couple had to leave due to the kids nearly knocking the lady over several times.

Wow
Dec 2019 • Couples
A museum full of fossils didn’t sound that appealing to me to begin with but it was really interesting. There’s a cast of a dinosaur skeleton, polar bear skulls, preserved whale hearts and much more to see. It seems quite far out the city but is really easy to access on the metro. Closes at 4 and there’s 2 floors full of fascinating material so make sure you leave enough time.

A beautiful place to learn about nature
Sep 2019 • Friends
I was quite surprised with the vast size of the museum! Such a great place to learn about animals from different parts of the world. The ways of displaying things varied (for. ex. being able to touch copies and see stuffed animals in their authentic surroundings), keeping it interesting.

The zoological collections contain some 10 million specimens representing an estimated 10 % of described multicellular animal species. The history of the collections reach back in time more than 200 years. Apart from rich collections of Danish animals,

Semi-good zoologisk museum.

Medium display, easy to explode in couple of hours. Quite modern approach as museum. Somehow it shown that the venue is two top floors on university building. A large museum shop. Maybe focus is in chidren. We are club for collecting black woodpeckers in European naturhistorical museums.

Bring your own lunch, they had none when we were there. Otherwise a great, small museum with a lot to look at and touch and do for the kids. Really interesting!
