Copenhagen is a truly fabulous city, however. Do not underestimate the cycling culture of the city. Cycling in Denmark is at a volume akin to that of England with it's population of car drivers. The average cycling speed is some 25 to 35 miles per hour as, l myself experienced when l found myself driving my buggy into a bridge parapet while avoiding speeding bicycles. However, please do not avoid cycling around this truly gorgeous city. My advice is, go on an organized cycling tour in the company of professional cyclists, thereby staying safe.

We landed in Copenhagen knowing little to nothing of the city's neighborhoods. We checked into the hotel, had a lovely day and looked forward to the following day when we would go on a biking tour of the city. To our delight, Christian greeted us with hot coffee on a cold day while we had a lovely chat waiting for the rest of the tour group. The tour was explained to us prior to departure with a very clear understanding of how the bikes worked, how the city bike signals worked, etc. so we felt great from the get go. The tour itself was wonderful! The loop that Christian has outlined is really great -- we got to see a ton of different neighborhoods, got great beer and restaurant recommendations, an understanding of the city and it's neighborhoods + saw all the MUST see stops with a great historical but not too long detailing of them. We will do this tour again the next time we are in the city! It was truly wonderful and I cannot recommend doing this more!! From San Francisco - - Julia

This was our first activity upon arriving in Copenhagen and we're so glad we got this overview tour of the city by bicycle first so we could make decisions on what places we wanted to return to and spend more time. Our guide (I think it was Simon?) was really nice, went at a reasonable pace, gave us plenty of info, and answered all our questions. There is a basket on the bicycle that fits a standard-sized backpack and helmets are available in various sizes if you want one. I took one to wear when we were riding along busy roads. Also, the bike lanes in Copenhagen are great - just be sure to stay to the right so that experienced Danish cyclists can pass you :)

We booked a Baltic cruise and decided to spend 3 days in Copenhagen prior to the cruise. What a wonderful city. It is, of course, the cycling capital of the world, so we decided, "why not try a bike tour?". Because we had planned the usual Hop on/Hop off bus & boat ride tour which was going to hit the major tourist spots, we went with the city/urban tour which took us to all kinds of neighbourhoods and spots that no traditional tour guide would go to. Excellent decision! Our guide (forgot his name) was excellent. We were 20 minutes late due to a cab dropping us off at the wrong location and they waited for us, which was unexpected and appreciated. We toured so many neighbourhoods in Copenhagen and got to experience life in the "bike lanes" of Copenhagen.

We took the modern architecture tour which exposed us to a part of the city we otherwise would not have seen. The guide did a good job of getting us fitted with bikes and explaining the rules of the road. He, however, had no knowledge about the architecture other than to keep repeating that this new section of the city was once an industrial area. If you are interested in architecture this is not the tour for you but it was a good ride.
