We've started taking these Trip Advisor top rated Food Tours in the cities we visit. We try to do them as close to our arrival date as possible because not only are they a great way to sample the local food, but the guides know the history of the city and it serves as a great introduction. We've done a few now, and haven't been disappointed. The guide for our October 7th tour was Rosemary. She was so knowledgeable and pleasant! We had a GREAT time. It was easy to find our meeting spot at Torvehallern, and we got started right on time. We went through the lovely Copenhagen Botanical Gardens, stopping at a quaint little shop and also got a brief lesson about the gardens. We proceeded to Aaman's for an incredible sampler plate of 4 different types of Smørrebrød. Then onto a local micro brewery, where we were able to sample 4 beers. Upon our return to Torvehallerne, we were treated to a lovely tour of the market; the local food/farmers market. We stopped at a couple of places to sample food, chai tea, a couple of akvavits and some chocolate! I would have been satisfied had the tour stopped there, but we had one more treat in store! An ORGANIC sausage; a full sized one with a homemade bun. We were stuffed!! A positive for us, but maybe not for some: be prepared to walk. I think my Fitbit registered about 2 miles, but note it is stretched out over the 4 hours. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
