When you are there you truly are downtown. Christiansborg Castle, the canal, the stork fountain, cafes, shops, lots of people and in a couple of years less construction and a metro station.

We have visited Højbro Plads/High Bridge Square as part of two different tours. The Equestrian Statue of Absalon is the main feature. Absalon is a character worth learning about. Tip - Tours run to and from this location and are well worth going on to learn more about the area.

This is a public square located between the adjoining Amagertorv and Slotsholmen Canal in the City Centre. Its main feature is the equestrian statue of Bishop Absalon, founder of Copenhagen. Actually Højbro ("High Bridge") is the name of a nearby bridge.

Tried the sausage bun and glogg. Yummy! Warm you up perfectly for the weather. They sell assorted nuts, ham, nougats and chocolate. Try to visit the outer circle of the market, prices tend to be lower, e.g. the assorted snacks and nuts.

You'll see it at some point walking around to different attractions. Copenhagen is a small city relatively in size so you'll likely walk right by everything if you pay attention take a look and a pic. Take a pic and move on.

If you don't do anything else just watch the people who are passing by, it is already good. All kind of locals are running, or walking around, you can have a little look into the daily life.

A nice area of Copenhagen, plenty of great shops. Illums department store is worth visiting. It has free Jazz concerts on the square in Jazz week in July most years. I went saw part of a concert on Sunday. Worth visiting this area, it is part of the long shopping street.

This a nice plaza...we were fortunate to visit on a day when there was a choir performing...it really added to the atmosphere...it's not in the worlds top ten plazas....it probably not in the top 100 but on the day we were there it was lovely

Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city.
