Like most fountains in Europe, this is currently drained of its water as its currently the winter. The fountain is still impressive, even when empty you can see the fine craftsmanship of the statue at the top!

The fountain is located not far from The Little Mermaid. After expecting big things from The Little Mermaid, this was far more impressive! The fountain is a striking sculpture and provides an excellent photo opportunity. The detail in the sculpture is stunning and the historical image it depicts is quite powerful. I was lucky enough to view the fountain in... More

We passed this fountain as we walked through the park on our way back from seeing the Little Mermaid. It had been drained as it was February, and freezing, but still stunning. The Goddess is ploughing land to create the islands. I loved the bronze snakes curling around the outside.

We followed the Royal Guard from they barracks to Amaliemborg Castle, then we walked to the Gefion Fountain and rested for few minutes. The fountain is beautiful and a nice spot for a nice picture.

I visited a similar place as this one in Sweden and I wasn't fit enough to walk on top of the edification, almost lie down of exhaustion. This time was great and I was pleasant of myself walked all the way up and down of Gefionspringvandet and beyond.

On route on seeking out the little mermaid came across this gem of a foutain by chance. A very bold piece of work stunningly detailed and powerful in its image. You'll soon be wanting to capture its grandure in photo form and enjoy it from various angles.

This is not far from the little mermaid and is far more interesting than latter unfortunately due to the freezing weather it had been drained but I'm sure it would be impressive in full flow.

Very impressive statue that if walking along the waterside towards the Little Mermaid you will pass. In fact, it's probably more interesting!!

Practically in the Kastellet and very close to the Little Mermaid, this fountain is a great work of art featuring a Norse goddess, on a very large scale. Unfortunately there was no water running as it was still part of the winter period

when we arrived the water had been turned off, not sure if this was temporary or due to it being winter, despite this it is still a beautiful statue and no doubt would look even more amazing when the fountains are working, it is next to the old flint stone church, all of which has fascinating history, the whole area...
