As fountains go this is top draw. It's attractive, aesthetic and spotlessly clean. It's on the hop on hop off bus route, so be prepared for crowds

Dedicated to the founding of Zeeland (and thus Copenhagen) by Gefiion and her four sons turned into bulls it features cascades of water the fall into a welcoming pool (filled with ducks when we were there). Surrounding the pool is a low, wide wall perfect for sitting and relaxing. While the fountain is certainly not worth a separate trip it... More

This is a pleasant surprise right before you enter the Castle area. Used as a wishing well, it is a beautiful fountain donated by the Carlsberg Brewery. It features a large-scale group of animal figures being driven by the Norse goddess Gefjun (Plow, or cultivation of soil), on a mythical island of Zealand on which Copenhagen is located.

This fountain near the little mermaid is another tourist favourite. The statue is impressive, good photo opportunity but make sure that you get a good view.

Large fountain near the Kastellet. Great view of the water and the Kastellet from the fountain. Must stop on the way to the Kastellet or the Little Mermaid.

This fountain in near the Little Mermaid attraction, so it's worth a walk if you're in the area already. It's very pretty and quite large in person. Don't forget to make a wish!

The fountain is close to the Little Mermaid and actually has more to offer. Look at all the details of the structure and enjoy the flow of the water. But yes, you will not be alone with all the other tourists around.
