I could have not imagined a better way to spend my last night in Copenhagen. We were lucky enough to see "Alice in Wonderland" in an incredible performance, imaginative costumes and constantly changing scenery. The performance lasted a 2 hours and 45 minutes and I wanted more! The theatre is beautiful, well maintained, well organized with friendly stuff and everything... More

We were lucky enough to see 'Alice in Wonderland'. A stunning performance in a stunning building. Our seats were way up in the upper gallery but the view was still excellent. The orchestra for this particular performance was huge and it was great to be able to view it from above. Possibly this seat location might get a little warm... More

My husband and I attended "Alice in Wonderland" by the Royal Danish Ballet on a cold winter night in Copenhagen. I've seen this performance done by other professional ballet companies in the USA, but the beautiful theater and dancing was on another level. Even my husband loved it and he wasn't sure he wanted to go in the first place!... More

Very beautiful hall and stage! The room in which the pre session seating was held is beautiful too, which looked like it belonged to a royal family before. Only issue I had was that the pre-session review about the performance and the dancers was done in Danish, not English.. The performance was amazing by the dancers, really kept the audience... More

If you are visiting Copenhagen you should consider to attend a ballet performance at the Royal Danish Theatre (Old Stage). Since 2008 it has been headed by Nikolaj Hübbe, former principal dancer at the New York City Ballet. This season has had an excellent start. The American principal dancer Holly Jean Dorger was outstandingly moving in Giselle and choreographer Christoffer... More

Even in the height of its improvement through massive constructions you'll still enjoy the ballet performances here with their preparations of brunch like meal to add the excitement you've experienced during the show.

The building in its own is a delight to view inside and out. Unfortunately the square in front was under construction with lots of noise and dust.

Nice theatre in the heart of the city. Work in progress in the square just in front, but fortunately you can still take a look at this piece of history of the country.

Me and my friend bought last minute tickets for the opera "The wedding of Figaro". And wow! It was amazing! Both the architecture, view from the balcony, the salon, the opera it self, the very well arranged pre ordered drinks during the pause, the atmosphere, the short introduction before the performance. I was impressed and it's for sure not the... More

There are tours (in Danish) of the Royal Theatre, but the best way to see it is with tickets to the opera or the ballet. Opera is not my thing, but Royal Danish Ballet is an *excellent* company for ballet. They are probably the only company that has maintained an unbroken tradition of classical 19th century ballet technique. We watched... More
