We hit this in the middle of a big exhibition and it was very busy with visitors coming form all over the world. The system (getting in and around) was well set up and an overall enjoyable visit was had.

Some of the best stuff was on loan so Denmark section sparse. Good for some French post-impressionists. Restaurant very pleasant.

There are a few Matisse paintings, some good paintings by Danish painters Kroyer and Anchor..but aside from that it is rather an uninspiring collection and its expensive too..the museum is no longer free its 110 Kroner..do not waste your money!

There is some very interesting art in this collection but it is not as good as other national galleries. The staff were all very helpful, but there is a restriction on hand bags which seems rather over the top in a gallery. You can put...More

After my disappointment at Rosenborg Castle, this made up for it. It's a beautiful building, a real mix of classic and modern architecture inside. The collections are fascinating. I was concentrating on 17th century art, but ended up looking around the Danish collections too. It...More

The Impressionist section is hobbled by the taste of the collector. I could not spot any works by women. More troubling it contains items that were "impounded" from a Jewish gallery owner.

This is a well organised art gallery, the main collection divided into three main sections: European Art from the 14th-18th centuries, Nordic Art from the 18th-19th centuries, and Modern Art from the 20th century. The historic building has a new section at the back to...More

This museum was a delight. The current Hogarth exhibit is funny and insightful There's an incredible exhibit of trompe l'oeil paintings done in the 1600s in one room, many Lucas Cranachs. We loved it!

This is the largest and best gallery I have been in so far on my trip to Europe. I spent 4 hours walking through this gallery and that was way too fast. I would recommend that you allocate a whole day. My all-time favorite painting...More

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Copenhagen. We were pushed for time so we didn't get to spend as long as we would have liked to, but I could have spent the whole day here! There is a huge collection of...More
