We spent two lovely afternoons here in the sunshine - the place was buzzing and it was just great atmosphere. So many different food outlets - and I have never seen as many people drinking wine outdoors. (which was actually very reasonably priced). Just go and soak up the atmosphere.

The market by the name of Design Market does not exist. Pictures of the market shown here is from another market in Copenhagen called Torvehollerne. I went to the address given for "Design Market"...no market. I walked around a two blocks radius and still couldn't find the market. How can a market this big just simply not be there? I... More

These markets have a fresh food divided into meat in one section and veggie and prepared meals in the other section. A good selection of bread and sandwiches but it was interesting to note that service standards are average - your $18 roll won't be warmed on a grill. Worth going to for lunch. I'll probably go back and try... More

I specifically walked to this place twice, there are no markings on the walls and you can't find information on when it's open. Major let down. I even went online to try to find more information.

This would have to be for me the highlight of Copenhagen. I was here thirty years ago once and made a beeline for this market to experience the real market foods of the Danish . Its beautifully presented and although expensive the quality is fresh and superb. The stall owners take much pride in their presentation . They are all... More

Loved this market. Great food, not so reasonable prices. Lots of variety, some of the best fruit and vegetable can be bought just outside

We found out about this market from a guide about food tours in Copenhagen. We spent a morning browsing in this centrally-located market which offers the best of spices, appetizers, vegetables, fruit, nuts, coffee, etc. Copenhagen is (becoming) known for its culinary strengths and this market is a testament to this. We found items that we haven't seen before -... More

Staying in Amager

Neighborhood Profile
Amager
In the eastern part of this neighbourhood, visitors will discover Amager Strandpark, a beach area which has become increasingly popular. It’s only a 30 minute bicycle ride or a 10 minute Metro trip away from the city center. Only a few hundred yards inland, some of the most creative musicians, artists, and writers in Copenhagen are occupying some of the old storage houses and production facilities. The western part is one of Copenhagen's most rapidly evolving areas, here you’ll find international architecture of the highest rank, the state of the art TV-Byen (the Danish pendant to BBC), a golf course as well as Copenhagen's best (and tiniest) ice bar.
