This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Their authentic locations with gamemasters living into the roles are just some of the elements they master and thus provide a unique and fun experience! There is control of things and creative solutions to the puzzles you face. It's not just about finding 4 numbers or a key to a hinge lock. We tried both The Royal Cabinet and The Royal Dungeon - the best rooms (out of many) we have tried. The puzzles were fantastic and hugely varied. Jonas was our game master - service minded, empathetic and with perfectly balanced in game hints. No doubt there were passionate forces behind this place! The gamemaster was super clever, cool and welcoming. He was part of the experience. When we were unfortunately not finished, we became curious about the last tests we were missing and there were answers, so we will definitely go again and try the chance with one the other room. Having a hard time rating this escape room because I feel bad about leaving a negative review. The staff was very friendly and presented the story in a way that we were eager to get going. The decorations are great. The riddles were fun to solve.
I’m sure the other two rooms are outstanding, but “the dungeon” was just not the right room for us.

We were a family of four and at the start of the dungeon-game you get chained together in line and chained to a wall. This way my older daughter and I were stuck in a corner of a dark room were we could neither see or reach anything. We couldn’t help with any idea to get us off the wall. Next came my husband who is not an escape-room-player and not good in solving riddles. So my youngest daughter was the only one who could actually move around the most in the dark room and she was the one who had to find the puzzle pieces to get us unchained from the wall. It was very frustrating and we were loosing half an hour.
We usually work pretty well together as a family when it comes to escape rooms, but only when all four of us can roam and explore freely. It’s usually the way that some of us a finding stuff and the others are solving the riddle behind the pieces. Now only one person could find pieces and we were getting nowhere.
The other negative thing was that we told the game master before the start that our main goal was to finish the game and that we would appreciate getting hints if the game master sees that we are behind in time. Although we made that clear we still had to give a signal that we needed a hint. Without our signal we would not have gotten help. The hints themselves were great when received. Unfortunately in the end we were four riddles short and lost the game. It was very disappointing and a real anticlimax, especially considering that we lost so much time in the beginning while chained to the wall.
Considering the price for a family of four for an hour of entertainment we were seriously disappointed. I was mostly disappointed in myself, because I felt we would have enjoyed the other two rooms way more, but it was me who was pushing for the dungeon. If we had known before that not all of us can participate in the same way in the beginning of the game we would definitely have chosen a different room. I’m sorry for the money we spent on this one.

Royal Escapes is not Copenhagen's most expensive Escape Room - but the quality is certainly not lacking. On the contrary. I visited Royal Escapes with my 9 year old daughter and her friend. We chose the room called the Royal Cabinet so that it wouldn't be too creepy and it turned out to be absolutely perfect for us. It was atmospheric, fun and exciting - not least thanks to our game masters, who got the game started in a lively way. Along the way, they helped us with hints when we got stuck in the many well thought-out puzzles, and this meant that our 60 minutes in the room was enough to solve (almost) all the tasks and get the end of the story. Royal Escapes is highly recommended.

Booked all 3 rooms for family event. Perfect with different rooms where there is something for everyone, both free and full of creepiness! We were welcomed and the staff were very patient and attentive. Inside the rooms you were helped to get comfortable and they were great at making sure it was a good experience also for my little nieces who were there. Really fun and entertaining. Thank you very much.

We honestly cannot stop gushing about the entire experience, from our arrival until our departure. It was the best part of what we did while in Copenhagen and I only wish I was in town longer to try the other two escape rooms (which he assured us he can adjust the "scare level" for in case anyone is worried about that when picking a room!)
Everything was so memorable and enjoyable for us. The owner is very kind and fun and you can tell he truly loves what he has created. We did the English version of the "Royal Mystery". The only time we had trouble with the puzzles was for our own faults at being too nervous to touch many things in the rooms. Otherwise all the puzzles were very clear to us. The final puzzle had many different ways to solve.
While we didn't take advantage of it (but wish we had!), this is an escape room where you're even allowed to take photos inside. If we were traveling with someone less enthusiastic about puzzle solving, we thought this would be an excellent "task" that such a person could do to document the experience for the group.
I really cannot recommend this place enough. You must check it out!

My husband and I have done lots of Escape Rooms, in different countries even. The 2 rooms in Royal Escapes are some of the best rooms we ever tried!
The attention to detail is uncanny, there are unforeseen mindgames/tricks along the way and real acting involved. The host Fabian is giving life to the whole mystery vibe - and a nice extra service is the option for drinks and snacks! We are huge fans, for sure! I always recommend Royal Escapes to everyone!

We were two people doing the Royal Dungeon. Incredible experience! Of course, we lost - the game is incredibly made and the storyline is very thorough, making the whole experience very complex. The cherry on top was the host. He was friendly and fun, and had us immersed in the experience literally as we stepped in the door to the venue itself. Excited to come back!

We play escape rooms in every city we visit, and Royal Escapes looked so good we had to do all 3!!
Fabian was an amazing gamesmaster (probably one of the best we have played with!) and he created a fun/spooky atmosphere right from our arrival. We then played the 3 games back to back - The Royal Mystery, Dungeon, and then Playroom. The sets of each room were super, and had a lot of detail, but nothing that was confusing or red herrings. Fabian created a good ambiance, even with how we were introduced to the room, and with the music. In games 2 and 3 there were a reasonable amount of scares! But all very fun - I’m sure Fabian had a good laugh everytime he made me scream. Each game had soooo many puzzles packed into them, we were very busy, and left feeling very satisfied. If you’re enthusiasts like us I highly recommend planning an afternoon doing all 3!! Location is easy and convenient to get to, being right in the centre near other landmarks, and easy to spot.

Both The Royal Mystery and The Royal Dungeon are among the best escape room experiences I've had in Copenhagen. The owner and game master of these rooms is one of those truly passionate storytellers you don't come across often in European escape rooms. Immersive, fun, and delightfully scary, I highly recommend the immersive escape room experience of Royal Escapes.

Had an incredible experience at Royal Escapes in Copenhagen! Easily one of the best escape rooms I've ever tried. The game was engaging and challenging, but what truly set it apart was the wonderful staff. A special shout out to the kind girl who introduced us to the game. Even when our time ran out, she generously gave us extra time and guided us to complete the story. Her dedication to ensuring we had a memorable experience was truly commendable. To top it all off, she even offered a discount for our next visit. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Royal Escapes to anyone seeking a thrilling adventure in Copenhagen!

Fantastic escape game! We just tried Royal Mystery and immediately booked the dungeon for tomorrow. Such a fun room with a great variety of riddles, brilliant storytelling and a very immersive game. We were 4 people and felt like there was something for everyone to do/fiddle around with throughout.
It's obvious the game masters love what they do and have put a lot of thought and energy into it. Would strongly recommend!
