For hundreds of years the Danes were an unstoppable force of warriors,...

For hundreds of years the Danes were an unstoppable force of warriors, explorers and settlers – uniting Scandinavia, discovering America and bringing terror to the shores of Europe. Today Copenhagen’s history of fire and bloody battles lies hidden behind picturesque streets and colorful harbors. As the days of conquest passed, Danish power was replaced with a rich cultural legacy of writers, artists and philosophers. The fairytale feel of the city where Hans Christian Andersen wrote is the home of incredible stories and unbelievably true histories: Viking adventurers; pirate-hunting Bishop Absalon; daring Danish WWII resistance fighters and more. Our local expert guides will take you on a 3 hour walking tour through 6000 years of Copenhagen’s history and you’ll find out why the Danes are some of the happiest people in the world!

I did the free walking tour with Nina and the alternative tour with Tristan with some other residents at the hostel I was staying at. Both guides were absolutely fantastic. Nina took us all over the city and gave a lot of fantastic information. She covered history architecture, cultural information, current events, and explained how to pronounce some Danish words... We attended the walking tour with Tristan on Sunday 14th August. He was very easy to listen to, very informative (as with all other sandeman's tours we have done!) would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city to start with a free walking tour! :)

Walking tours are always an excellent way to learn your way around a city or neighborhood, and this tour was excellent. We had a large group but our guide, Tristan, managed to keep everyone together and gave us all a good orientation to the central part of Copenhagen. We got lots of information on Danish history and culture, as well... More

Roberto was an excellent guide, very kind, nice and polite and well informed about history, facts and local habits. We already experienced free tours in other cities as Prague and we will repeat definetively again. Unfortunatey this was our last day in Copenhaguen and we could not experienced other tours, but we would like to.
