The Maritime Monument is located a little further out from Langelinie and is a large and beautiful memorial to the Danish sailors who lost their lives during the First World War.
It is a large square plinth in white marble which opens into a point like a ship's prow and there are many reliefs of many scenes around shipwrecks etc.
And the names of the 648 sailors who perished are there.
The monument was inaugurated on 09.05.1928 by King Chr. X , originally it was made of lime stone, which was worn out and therefore replaced with white marble and rededicated in September 2011.
At the top of the monument stands a woman in bronze with outstretched wings and a wreath in her left hand.
The artists were sculptor Svend Rathsack and architect Ivar Bentsen.
An elegant and perhaps slightly overlooked monument.

It's good to see a war memorial close to the fortress nearby. This statue is to remember the sailors who lost their lives during the first world war. There is an angel on the top. Possibly promoting peace?
Let's never forget those who lost their lives so we have freedom now,

Not clear to me how this has ended up being called "The Peace Statue Angel of Langelinie". It is officially the Seafarers Monument (or Sofartsmonumentet) which is dedicated to the 648 Danish Merchant Navy Seamen who lost their lives at sea in WWI.
This impressive monument has at the top a large winged female figure that depicts "MINDSET" or memory. It was inaugurated in 1928. The base contains a number of narrative reliefs that incorporate the names of the ships and the men lost at sea.

It's very close to Kestellet and to the cruise terminal. I have already forgotten what the tour guide told us about the statute.

This is located in an area rarely visited by tourists, it's a little further along past the Little Mermaid statue where the small marina with boats are. The statue is Greek style with a winged Angel atop a block. It's quite a large statue, worth seeing.

This monument is located at Langelinie, which is a pier, promenade, and park in central Copenhagen.
The monument is commemorating civilian Danish sailors who lost their lives during the First World War.
The monument consists of a bronze sculpture of a winged female figure placed on a podium with a series of narrative reliefs on its side.

It's a statue. Of the Angel of Langelinie. I am not sure how something like this could be either excellent or terrible. I mean, it is just a statue, of the Angel of Langelinie, in the middle of Copenhagen.

This statue is easy to find as it is right on the promenade, near the Little Mermaid statue. The base of this statue shows scenes of men getting on what appears to be fishing boats so I guess this is some kind of memorial to the men who do and did this very dangerous job.

Saw it after walking back from seeing The Little Mermaid. Standing tall and majestic in copper green hue. My husband and I were the only ones there looking and taking photos of the statue. It was indeed a total difference from the Little Mermaid attraction.

We walked by the Angel statue after visiting Kestellet and the Little Mermaid.
The statue itself is quite pretty and in a location that isn't typically swamped by tourists.
Worth a look when in the area for sure!
