Neighborhood: Frederiksberg
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.

My girlfriend enrolled us in this class as a birthday gift for me while we were visiting Copenhagen on vacation and we had an amazing time! Our instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and skilled and we learned a ton throughout the experience. The pastries we made here are the best Danish pastries I've ever eaten! Highly recommend for anyone who is interested in improving their baking skills and learning how Danish pastries are made.

I would suggest taking this class at the beginning of your trip so you have time to eat the boxes of delicious pastry that you will take home with you.
Great class and lots of fun making the pastry. The space is great, a cooking area and an area to enjoy your pastries with a cup of coffee when finished.

We booked this class ( 2 of us) and paid about £80 each
It lasted about 3 hours 45 mins.
The instruction was good and clear.
The only niggle we had is that you work in 2's, so you basically make 24 pastries between you (12 each). It would have been better to do it so you can do it alone and just make 12 each so you can follow the whole process through, as working in two's you end up only doing something for half of the time and watching the other person the rest of the time - which I felt made it a little costly.
Other than that it was fun.

My best friend and I had a BLAST at this experience. Not only did we learn all about the art of Danish baking but we learned how much love and work goes into these delicate and tasty pastries.

You start with laminated dough (it would naturally take too long with resting time to make a day experience by doing it any other way) and learn how to make and shape 4 different pastries.

The instructor is great at giving directions and has a funny French sense of humor. He also loves butter but if you're taking a pastry class with a French instructor you should know that's a given.

While our pastries were baking we had time to sit and drink coffee while talking more in-depth about the art of pastry and how to adapt a basic dough recipe to make hundreds of different pastries.

You will leave with A LOT of pastries (12 per person) but I didn't mind that. We gave a box to our hotel staff and they seemed more than pleased to take them off our hands.

You do work in stations of 2 so if you book this alone you will be paired with a stranger.

At the end of the class while the pastries are proofing you'll learn how to make and laminate your own dough. So if this is a skill you want to learn you're in luck!

Also, since you'll be on your feet most of the day comfortable shoes are a must. I would also recommend putting on some stretchy pants because once you taste one of your homemade pastries you'll have a hard time not wanting to eat them all!

What an amazing experience! One of the family favorites of our trip. Not only fun but the outcome was delicious. Heads up! Make this one of your first events as you will have enough food for days. We are now back in the States and we are going to try to recreate the experience ourselves.

A wonderful experience with four teenagers in tow. Frederick was so patient with them. They really enjoyed the activity and ate pastries for 2 days straight !

Highly recommend! Had a great time making delicious pastries and meeting new people! Also appreciated being shown how to make the laminated dough for future use.

For my learning style, I just wished he would allow us to try steps while he showed us what to do, instead of making us wait until after. I had a hard time remembering some details and was unable to complete some tasks as well as I would have liked. Oh and be prepared to move quickly!

Great instruction on how to prepare the pastries, tips for making them at home and loads of time to get hands on. Worked in pairs (I went solo so got buddied up with another solo student). Made 4 varieties - all delicious. Had a box full to take home (I was able to share with friends - make sure you have a plan to eat them all so they don’t go to waste!). I tried the recipe from start to finish at home a couple weeks later with very good results. I used to be intimidated by laminated pastry dough….no longer! This is a very good value for money and loads of fun if you like baking.

So much fun! Frederick is incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer questions but he kept the class moving along in a most entertaining way. The space is lovely and the class a nice size, he gave everyone personal attention and instruction. The time flew by and it was amazing how many things we made. We had treats for the rest of our trip!
