It was nice walking down the canal and the city arranged multiple guides around the city to assist tourists. All the stores and restaurants line the canal.

The canal is one of the characteristics of Aarhus and if you are visiting here a walk along it is hardly possible to miss. There are tons of cafes and restaurants scattered along the canal. I wouldn't take a dip in it though since it is quite dirty and when ever they clean it up they always finds a bunch of bikes, lots of trash and last time even a refrigerator...! But even through it is quite nice to take a cold drink and sit by the steps and enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city during a warm sunny day.

The Aarhus River was filled in before and during German occupation and was a wide boulevard. The River was replaced where it had been and now forms a canal lined by cafes and night clubs. It is a great place to relax and people watch.
