Visited here with my hosts on the first evening on my stay. It's an old railway station re-purposed as some form of arts and crafts centre. It has rehearsal rooms as well as craft areas where locals make all sorts of things. In one of the rooms on the evening we visited a group was rehearsing a viking battle. Watched it a couple off times and was very entertaining. worth a visit

This is an environment that is constructed to be innovative and disruptive. When one of the former creative spaces in Aarhus, "Huset", was shut down, efforts were made to establish a new creative space in town. Workshops for a wide range of crafts galore. And they have a very nice resto, too.

So, this place has become more organized and polished over the years. But you'll still find some of that pioneer spirit. Walk amongst the small container houses and see whats up. Maybe you'll find a small shop open or you'll be able to grab some street food. But go quick. This area is being taken over by new building projects and a prestigious school for architecture will soon find its place here.

Well worth seeking out, this is an outstanding studio and workshop complex that also houses club space and an open-to-all café bar. Great use of industrial space.

Godsbanen is full of urban and artistic vibes. It is such a creative and inspiring place. They have workshops accessable for the public where you can truly express you inner creativity! Also there is an amazing view from the roof of the building - though it is quite a climb - but worth it. There also is an urban garden outside for nature lovers.

A vibrant centre of art and culture, Godsbanen is located in beautifully restored buildings which used to house freight trains. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in spacious and unique surroundings and soaked up the atmosphere of one of Aarhus’ most dynamic cultural environments.

Visited the exhibition hall during the Aarhus Art Convention 2016. A neat hall with a decent restaurant in it. The sloped roof gives a view over the railyard. Would say that it worth a visit of an hour or so, Depending on the exhibition.

Take a walk in the area and experience a creative environment in Aarhus. Walk to the top of roof on the main building from the courtyard side and enjoy the view. Visit the alternative buildings in the backyard.
Maybe look at the calendar to find a market, exhibition or attend a course.

I attended a seminar that took place in part in the Godsbanen. We had the seminar sessions in the classrooms and enjoyed lunch in the cafeteria. You could even climb on top of the building to see the view and enjoy your lunch there - or just simply sit at one of the nice tables inside the building.

it's only for the initiated. As a newcomer it's a giant mess of random rooms, weird so called art (a matter of taste obviously :P), overpriced cafe, and you'll get lost trying to find anything or any help there.
Oh, and you can never know if there's suddenly a fee to enter a certain room, so be warned just walking around.
Besides that, if you're a neighbor get used to random outdoor concerts at all hours of the day, bonfires spreading smoke, and random noise.

It _should_ have been a place for creativity and letting people work on hobby projects/art, but for all practical purposes ... I seriously have no idea what it's there for.
There should be some workshops there, where you can go build stuff, but considering how uninviting the place it it's just not worth it.

Unless you're possibly an aspiring artist, or just a part of the inner circle, wanting a place to do whatever you want to, I see no reason to go there.
A shame really. Such potential, just wasted. :(
