My friends had a great time watching West Side Story in the old theatre. It was beautiful and very Well kept. Unfortunately we could only see half the stage because of the walls. But there is nothing to do about it if you dont wanna ruin the old and beautiful theatre.

I didn’t get to see a performance or the inside of the theater, but the outside was magnificent, both during the day when you could see the beautiful fresco and carvings, and at night when it was all lit up. The Art Nouveau building is fairly new, in Aarhus time, having been built in 1900.

I have seen Erasmus Montanis, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Les Miserable. And every time I just enjoy the magical decorations all over the place from when people had time for art and beautiful decorations of ceiling, hall and yeah just every where. Love the place.

You will find this theater extraordinarily situated and with a program and direction to match and international theater. Furthermore you'll love the decor and perhaps even the good dining and bars in the quarter around it.

The theatre is located across a courtyard 30 second walk from Aarhus cathedral.Unfortunately for us it was sunday morning-it was shut. The building is very beautiful, I would have liked to have gone inside to look.It was currently showing the show "west side story". Never mind.

We arrived on a cruise ship and the free shuttle dropped us off at the harbor entrance. Aarhus central is a small and walkable city so we decided to walk to the Domkirke first.
We then saw the Aarhus Theatre that was built at the turn of the century. It was a Sunday morning so the theatre was closed. Even so we got to admire the outside. When we got home from our trip we went to the website and saw just how nice and varied the productions were.

We only saw the exterior as no programme was on during our visit at the beginning of September, but we had heard from friends that they put on fantastic high-quality performances. The building with its stained-glass windows is impressive.

The building itself is just beautiful - inside and outside. The shows are really good, and the type varies a lot, so there is always something coming up you want to see. I have seen many musicals and theatre concerts, and the musicians and singers are usually really good. Also try booking a guided tour around (and under) the theatre - the props and backstage departments are really fun to see...

This theatre makes amazing shows, and the scenography is very interesting and amazing (so even though you might not understand danish it might actually be worth a visit!). The building is beautiful outside, but wait until you see the halls - they look like something from a fairytale.

A fairly small theatre in the old style. Not too much space, but a great atmosphere of anticipation and art.
Have watched plays and musicals there and when the play is on the room seems bigger.
Depending on the play and actors ... recommended for a true theatre experience.
