This monument is located in Memorial Park in Aarhus near Marselisborg castle, which is the royal family's summer residence.
Memorial Park was originally planned as a gathering place for Danish-Americans during the 4th of July, but success in Rebild hills south of Aalborg, was so successful that the park never got success with this activity.
In 1934, the memorial to 4,140 Slesvigers in German service during the first World War inaugurated and it is a magnificent cultural and artistic monument to the fallen Danes. Near the memorial is arboretum garden near the Marselisborg castle.

A superb city. At Comwell Hotel it was so good that, instead of 9 nights, we chose to stay another night, so we had a stay of 10 nights and 11 days! Her Majesty's Palace Queen Margaret II of Denmark and the palace gardens are extraordinary and well worth it! Also the deer park!

We run with a group, accompanied by guide, through this park. Very beautiful this time of the year - more flowers to be expected later - with always the vicinity of the sea.

This park commemorates the 5600 fallen Danish soldiers during WW1. Denmark itself maintained its neutrality, but because of the German occupation of the Schleswig Region, which was Danish prior to the war of 1864 (today: the Danish-German border region), 30.000 young men with a German passport but Danish at heart and mind had been forced into the German armed services at WW1. 5600 of those fell, and their names are written here at Marselisborg Mindepark.

It is really nice to stroll around in the park and the beautiful garden. Perfect for a Sunday outing, and great to have a picnic on one of the huge lawns. There is also a small kiosk selling hotdogs and ice cream.

Chilly spring day, beautiful palace and park. We were able to sit and admire the grounds. A free activity when you are out and about.

The most beautiful parc in Århus. I love it. You can visit the queens castle next to Mindeparken. In mindeparken you find the best playgrounds for kids. There a benches so you can make a barbecue and the view is breathtaking. Definitely a must see in Århus.

It's a stunning park full of wonderful flowers and trees. A great place to relax!
It's right next to the Royal residence too, which I think is pretty great!
