It's great that that Odense has so many statues in the city center but this one is not my favorite..

This sculpture is one of a series of works of art in Odense inspired by H.C. Andersen’s tales. The darning needle (‘Stoppenålen’ in Danish) refers to a rather strange tale from 1846 about a darning needle who imagines herself to be more than just a...More

My sister has told me that is it is actually a needle and thread.... Something else strings to mind though. I'd recommend checking it out!

Odense is full of HC Anderson stuff - this is one of the many statues around town that relate to one of his many stories. This one took me a while to work out - let's be honest, it's quasi-pornographic, anyway.
